Okay. Very average but expensive.
I very much enjoyed my trip to Bergen but the hotel was not a highlight. Mediocre. For persepctive, everything in Norway is pretty much 2-4 X the cost in the US. This hotel cost 3X the cost for a same type of room and hotel in the US. I specifically had asked ahead of time for a room that was quiet and not near fans (loud fan systems are everywhere in Norway and Norwegians seem deaf to their presence) and I got a room which was near fans, one floor down from the roof top fan system (i.e. not possible to sleep with window open, and i.e. hotel not able to follow directions). The tile grout in the bathroom was not clean. The pillow case had a rip. The staff was courteous and friendly but sent me through an unnecessary round about Expedia hotel payment already made. The room was pleasant but nothing special. The location was very good and made exloring the city very accessible.

Traveler’s Tip Category: Local attractions Traveler’s Tip: The churches that are opposite the main hub of the city (Mariakirken og Johanneskirken) are worth finding, very beautiful. the main business hub area is very accessible and has many lovely cafes, restaurants, stores, and curiousities. The museums are all of great interest in terms of history and art and the sciences (though did not visit the aquarium so many people talked about). A very accessible city and friendly.

The rooms were stark and looked like prison cells. My non smoking room smelled like someone had been smoking in it for years.
