Cant wait to go back
Very Charming Hotel in the Downtown area. The staff was great. This hotel is being remodeled, almost 95% complete. The new rooms are really nice. Big flat screen TVs and the internet worked well and is free. Just a great overall experience.

Not Worth It
I was very disappointed with my one-night stay at the Hotel Santo Tomas. The "solar heated pool and jacuzzi" that they advertise on their website was not open...and did not look like it had been, or would be, for quite some time. The "free tropical breakfast buffet" that they advertise was some sickly-looking fruit and pastries on a tray. The neighborhood wasnt great - I stayed at another hotel in San Jose where I felt much safer walking around. Finally, the front desk staff who checked us in was not at all helpful when we asked for a restaurant recommendation or for him to call us a cab. I might expect all of these things at a budget hotel, but for the price I paid, I was very disappointed.
