Burley Manor Hotel

The Burley Manor Hotel is the jewel in the crown of the New Forest and has enjoyed many regal connections throughout its long history - Parts of the estate were probably laid out in Saxon times and must have existed before the Doomsday Book was compiled in 1086 - Later Burley was a Royal Manor for nearly 200 years - The current building was erected in 1852 but it was a further 80 years before the house became a hotel when a restaurant and bedroom wing were added - During World War 2 the hotel was requisitioned and used as a military headquarters by Lord Montgomery and his chiefs of staff - Over the past 25 years the baronial style hotel has been continually upgraded and refurbished - the most recent additions being a brand new wing of luxurious premier rooms and a conservatory extension to the restaurant - Burley has 38 spacious and elegant en-suite bedrooms including 3 with 4-poster beds - All are fully equipped with electric trouser press - hairdryer - television with Freeview access - WiFi access and tea and coffee making facilities - The hotel has a relaxing ambience with modern comfortable amenities and several leisure activities - The large lounge is warmed by a blazing log fire - Grand bay windows overlook the stunning scenery - a magnificent old cedar tree alongside the outdoor swimming pool which is heated in the summer - and a paddock where a herd of New Forest deer graze - The delightful restaurant with its superb fireplace and views over the landscaped gardens serves a variety of traditional cuisine and is extremely popular locally - The Victorian-style conservatory adjoining the restaurant gives the impression guests are dining alfresco - Burley Manor has its own stables with horses suitable for novices to more experienced riders - The Hotel has self-contained meeting facilities - the largest seating up to a maximum of 60 delegates - Please note the hotel is completely no smoking
