#1 in Service

I have been traveling to this area for approx 15 years and have stayed at adult only resorts as well as family resorts. I have stayed at more expensive resorts and less expensive resorts. Dreams Adventuras is by far the number one resort of all that I have stayed when it comes to SERVICE. Everyone was so accommodating and serving from the desk to the beach bar servers. Early morning to late night, SERVICE was obviously their number one priority. On this trip I had 3 rooms as i brought two other couples as my guests. When you take on the responsibilty of another persons vacation you want everything to be perfect. Well I could not have chosen a better resort for this. Even when at dinner, one of my guests ordered 2 T-Bone Steaks and said put them on the same plate, no problem, they accommodated with a smile. The location with the beach and the marina adds an additional benefit over beach alone. The Dolphins in the Marina are tremendous to see. It also makes for nice strolls and a chance to get away from the resort itself. My guests and I would not only reccommend this property, but will return. Go here and Go Expeidia

I highly reccommend a day trip or early evening trip into Playa del Carmen for a little boutique shopping and or cocktails on the beach or dinner at one of the many, very reasonably priced restaurants along 5th Ave. be sure to go all the way to North end of 5th Ave as it is totally different then the south end of it.

A nice vacation, but,,,,,,,,,,

A great hotel, staff very nice and helpfull, short walk to town, lots of activities, but the buffet food was not very good. Ala Carte restaurants had wonderfull food though. I would not eat in the World Buffet unless you absolutely have no other choice, if they could get the food right it would be a perfect place,

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

Take the bicycle tour in the mornings at 9 am, its a nice ride and gets you aquainted with the surrounding area, lots to see and do,

Can’t wait to go back.

Hotel is awesome. We had a wonderful time. Highly recommend the fish tacos and corona at the beachside grill. Our room was very clean and modern. Spacious bathroom. Staff are very attentive. Also recommend the bike tour with Julian!

Gorgeous Hotel

I very much enjoyed everything about this hotel. The food was great and amenities were awesome! The only downfall for me personally was how family-oriented the hotel was. Bars and pools closed early. Definitely not a party atmosphere. Excellent for families and relaxing.

Nice vacation

We very much enjoyed Dreams Puerto Aventuras. Had an exceptional time. Very clean, good food, friendly staff. No need to catch a cab to Playa Del Carmen. Everything you could need or want was in Puetro Aventuras.

Loved the Stay

I was sad to leave the Dreams... our stay was absolutely amazing. There were plenty of activites and nightly events to keep us entertained. The resturants and food was amazing, even the 24 room service was scrumptious. All staff was friendly and extremely accomodating. Our beach was amazing and was where we spent most of our time. The Dreams also has a man-made reef which was excellent for snorkeling! AMAZING!

Looking forward to going back

This hotel was great. The service and staff was great. I went with a group of friends and we had a great time. The short walk to the Marina was great, where we saw the dolphin show "for free". The disco was ok, but if you really want to hear some great music and party the night away, you can take a short cab ride to playa del carmen.

Great Place!!!

We had a fabulous time!!! I was a little nervous after reading the reviews, but I was more than pleased with the resort. The food was great, the service was awesome, and the water was beautiful. We loved the beach service!! I only wish there was a larger sand beach. We had a blast and can not wait to return.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

Bring your own snorkel gear. The resort provides some, but you will want more than an hour with the gear.

Good for a one-time trip

The hotel was fine, much smaller than most other Dreams and somewhat outdated. The food though was some of the best that we have had in ten years on an all-inclusive trip to Mexico. The staff was very accommodating and the drinks were great. Very small pool but great summer breezes. Not the place to go if you like to walk on the beach. We had a great time but would not return.

Small resort with slow service

Cons: Small resort, remote. Need taxi once leaving the premise to get to anywhere. Small beach with rocks in water. Onsite PADI center is pricey - at least for dive trips to Cozumel and cenotes. Only 4 restaurants open for dinner. Slow service in restaurants - up to 45 min or 1 hour to get food, especially the Sea Side Grill and the sushi restaurant (the worst). Food quality not the best. Avoid the sushi restaurant: extremely slow service, sushi quality is a joke. Bathroom only has shower, no tub - at least in the 2 rooms we occupied. Tiny children club and playground. Our children did not enjoy their activities nowhere near as much as at other Riviera Maya all-inclusive resorts. Front desk/lobby service is spotty. Tour and excursion services and selections quite limited. Pros: A few steps to the beach. Rocks to the right of the beach provides plenty of fish of different varieties - good snorkeling. Beach water is calm, clear, warm, and very shallow - very nice for children. Very attentive waiters. VG service from waiters and bartenders, but their restaurant cooks are too slow. Rooms are new, tiled, clean, and roomy - especially the marina view rooms (larger than ocean view rooms). Rooms have mini-bar fridge (included in room price) and safe. Balcony is very spacious with nice views. Bathroom is also nice - tiled shower with handwash flexible steel hose separate from shower head.

Bed Size Isn’t Guaranteed

We stayed here for our honeymoon in June. We booked a preferred club ocean front room with a King size bed. When we arrived they put us in a room with two double beds (which wasn’t going to work for our honeymoon). They said that the bed size isn’t guaranteed when you book. We had paid the extra money for the ocean front but, all they had to switch us to was a marina front (which was nice, but disappointing considering we paid extra money for the ocean front) A few days later we had to pack our stuff up and they moved our room back over to ocean front. I complained quite a bit (considering it was our honeymoon), and they gave us a couples massage to make up for it. Other than that, the place was beautiful, the people working there are extremely nice and accommodating, and the food was great.

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

Don’t book excursions online. You can make deals with the people on the resort for much cheaper.

Suite does not have separate bedroom

We expected our Marina View suite to have a separate bedroom and were disappointed to find a sofa in the room was enough to classify as a suite.

Traveler's tip on dining

El Patio restaurant is less attended with good menu selections. The Poblano chili cappuccino (cream soup) was my favorite.

Money Well Spent!! Would Definitely return!!

This was our first trip to Mex & after our experience at Dreams Resort, it wont be the last. Upon arrival, we were pleasantly greeted by the bellhop who insisted on delivering our luggage to our room. The staff never stopped smiling and offering service. The hotel was always sparkling clean. The food was delicious. The beach was perfect for relaxing in the shade or sun. It would be wise to bring water-shoes if you plan to enjoy the lagoon, which is great for beginner sorkeling. There’s an on-site diveshop, a great hidden section of the oceanfront that is usually occupied by adults - complete with a natural pool. We don’t have kids but were impressed with the service given to them. The room was beautiful with panoramic views of the ocean. At first, the room smelled a bit musty (to be expected with ANY humid, tropical hotel), but once the air was on for a while, the smell went away. They always had fun activities planned throughout the day - pool games, a.m. stretching, aquatic aerobics, etc. They even had dinners out on the beach; tables set up, buffet-style. There were peddlers of goods around the pool area but I wouldn’t buy much from them - way too expensive. I would go to Playa Del Carmen for that stuff. We tried to think of something that wasn’t great but we can’t come up with anything. Our stay there was amazing and we would without a doubt return to this resort!

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

To get the best service from waiters, bartenders, room service and housekeeping, ALWAYS TIP often.

A resort to go back to

Overall beautiful hotel to stay at, decor not your typical Mexican resort and staff incredibly helpful. We stayed in the Preferred Club on the top floor and loved our nightly bartender, he delivered drinks and desserts to our room each evening. Typical of most resorts we’ve stayed at is slow service in the restaurants, so go with plenty of time to spare, but the food was wonderful. Resort is a hidden jewel in the Riviera Maya right now while others are afraid to travel due to the flu, never once felt that we were at risk of picking anything up. All mass transport is monitored by health professionals monitoring signs & symptoms of the flu. It’s actually a great time to go.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

You have to check out the Dolphin Adventure located in the marina just 2 blocks away. Restaurants and shops surround the marina with something for everyone and you can watch the trainers work with the dolphins (mornings are best)--for free.

There’s better out there

Food was very good, rooms were nice but service was less than desired. Understaffed I think is one way to describe it. Our room was never made at the same time in a weeks’ stay. We had to constantly call to remind them to refill minibar, not so much for the beer part but more so for the water! Room service took forever and as a matter of fact they completely forgot our friends room service on a day we left early for Tulum. The bartenders weren’t very friendly either. There was only one that was fun and he left for another job early in our stay. This was my first stay at a Dreams resort and I guess I expected more. Since Dreams recently took over this resort, it could be that they didn’t have their ducks in a row yet, but on the other hand they own other resorts so shouldn’t they have it figured out by now?

A week in Paradise

We recently took a week vacation to Dreams Puerto Aventuras-Apr 09. We had stayed there back in 06 when it was Sunscapes. Still love it! The rooms & food have been upgraded since but it was not bad before, so now it’s even more amazing. They have the best staff working there. So friendly. The beach is awesome. We are already planning another trip back. If you want an affordable vacation in paradise, then this is the place to go!

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

Make sure to tip the staff. A few bucks goes a long way and they are very much appreciative of it. You will get exceptional service if you tip them for their efforts. Also, there is a marina back behind the resort. You can walk across the bridge to get there. Lots of shops and restaurants to visit. It is a nice friendly community and very safe. No worries, they love the tourists there.

Excellent family choice

We travelled to Mexico with 4 children ranging in age from 2-12. All were happy. There was plenty to do for all. We would highly recommend this hotel to families.

Bring swim shoes and lots of sunscreen.

Great and new - a perfect place to get away

I booked this as a last minute getaway and it was perfect. We were really impressed with the amenities, the rooms and the friendliness of the staff. There are 2 pools (one that’s adults only), but the beach area was so great we spent every day parked there and on 2 days watched surfers. I would definitely recommend this to anyone visiting Riviera Maya.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

Definitely go into Puerto Aventuras and see the dolphins. You can eat lunch and watch the dolphins and sea lions. Amazing!

Just okay

We went to the Dreams Puerto Aventuros on a family vacation with our three kids ages 7-13, and our mother. There was plenty to do for all ages. They have multiple activities on the hour throughout the day. We enjoyed their evening entertainment with movies and music on the beach. They must have all these activities so you don’t have to complain about how awful the beach area is. There is only a small area of beach and even that area is covered in rocks which make it very difficult and painful to swim in the ocean. Although they have multiple restaurants, the only places worth eating were the International buffet and the Mexican restaurant. Our rooms had a strong mildew smell and the pillows that they put on our bed were covered in that smell. We would not reccomend this hotel.

Traveler's tip on recreational activities

We really enjoyed our swim with the Dolphins. We highly reccomend going to Excaret, which is an environmental theme park. The evening show is not to be missed! For active families take the tour to the Coba Mayan ruins which includes ziplining, rappeling, kayaking and swimming in a pool of natural water in an underground cavern!

A family favorite w/ a great newlook

Have come with my family to this resort for years and will continue to do so. The new face lift is ia knockout! Our room was beautifully decorated. The staff was so gracious and friendly. Spa services were a luxurious treat. The food is good and all the bars served top brand liquors. The beach is unsurpassed, clean, beautiful, w/ great snorkeling. We were never hammered by time share sales. With the marina area and dolphins a few minutes walk away you really never need to leave the resort.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

Don’t miss a leisurely evening at the marina enjoying dinner and a great magarita while watching the dolphins play just a few feet away. If you want "night life" and some great shopping Playa del Carmen is a short taxi ride away. I recently spent a "girl’s weekend" here and never felt unsafe.

Very impressed with concierge service

We were skeptical about the Resort in general. But it turned out to be one of the best & most relaxing vacations. Since we are Vegetarians, we did not have any expectations for the all-inclusive. But we were very pleasantly surprised by the conscierge & Executive Chef trying their best to accomodate our needs. The Resort was small enough for our 6 & 9 year kids to get around. Kids Program was great as well. I would recommend this Hotel.

We had a Blast! Would return in a second!

We loved this hotel- Small enough that you can get to the beach quickly. It is all right there. Yet big enough to offer lots of fun things to do. We had family suite for family of 5. Needed rollaway as we didn’t get sofabed. Room was spacious enough to accommodate it so no problems. Rroom was clean and quite nice. Very quiet! Maid service 2x per day. What makes this hotel outstanding is the people and the service. Everyone is friendly and kind. "It’s a pleasure," is sincerely replied to you all the time! Staff goes out of there way to make you feel welcome and tries to make sure you are taken care of and pampered. And we did! Also, activities were fun! Plenty to choose from. Nightly shows were great: Mexican cultural dancers, fire & water show on beach, a hypnotist (hysterical), etc. Kids loved nightly movies on beach and daily bungee trampoline jumping (although it fills up fast!). We had no problems getting into any of restaurants whenever we wanted despite spring break! Didn’t know if the food was going to be good or bad; frankly, we were pleasantly surprised that most of our meals were really quite good and only a few, just ok. Believe me, you will NEVER starve here; more likely you will gain a few extra pounds if you don’t watch it! Our family would go back to Dreams Puerto Aventuras in a heartbeat.

Brought own snorkel gear b/c you can only use hotel’s for hour. Saw tropical fish, sting ray, eel off hotel’s reef. Kids snorkeled many hours! Also got discounts w/snorkeling excursions by having our own. Best place to snorkel is in protected cove at hotel to north of Dreams. Bring piece of bread to feed fish. Amazing. Recommend bringing aqua socks for ocean. The reef is rocky in places. Take a walk into town of Puerto Aventuras and see the Dolphins. It’s worth it.

Pretty good

Did not get the room I requested when booking through Expedia. That was disappointing. However, the room was clean and the staff very friendly and polite. Thought resort was great for kids. Pool and beach are close to each other and you can keep an eye on the kids even when they run between the two. Food was fine and great selection for adults and children.

Traveler's tip on recreational activities

Did a snorkel trip through the hotel. Was not that impressed for the money.

Exceeded my expectations

This was my first all-inclusive stay and I was more than impressed. The food was terrific - my boyfriend is a chef and he even loved the food. The liquor is top shelf. The rooms were spacious and always clean. The bed was super comfortable. There is always something to do, either activities run by the Entertainment team (who are hilarious individuals) or just amenities that the resort offers. The shows every night were great. Every staff person that we came in contact with was AMAZING - they are there to please and satisfy your every desire. We were even able to get an XBOX in our room for the week. We didn’t do any excursions but we did go to Playa del Carmen which was a nice day trip for shopping and another nice beach. The only negative I can think of is that the beach is rocky and it isn’t very long if you are interested in taking a walk along the beach. There is however another resort close by and you can walk along their beach which is longer and less rocky.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

Be sure to tip - it goes a long way. We accidentally tipped the bellhop $20 US for helping take our bags to the room and recommending a few things. Word spread quick that we were good tippers (we would tip $1-2 for drink service and about $5 at dinner) and we were treated like kings and queens. The sports bar/nightclub is the happening place at night... so dance the night away! We and a few other couples shut it down every night.
