If all you want is cheap, go for it

This hotel is very inexpensive and it’s very close to the Brussels Square meeting center. But we were very disappointed to find that this is not nearly as nice as any other Renaissance I’ve visited in the U.S. It is comparable with a Courtyard Marriott at best. Pros: Front desk was helpful with map and directions, very inexpensive, quiet, walking distance to several nice restaurants. Cons: Far from Grand Place and most "nightlife," very outdated appointments and fixtures in the room, advertised mini-bar was an empty refrigerator, advertised "club floor" was only open during business hours, not on weekends.

Not exactly close to the train station

It is a beautiful hotel, in a nice location, but I asked to be near the train station, and it was a long walk every day. The front desk spoke good English and promised to do things, but we were there on a weekend, and trying to get more coffee packets and three cups in our room was very difficult every day. They kept promising, but it didn’t happen until I really insisted! The room was cold, but they ignored requests for help, and we finally covered the blowers with towels. I would have preferred a less fancy hotel, where they were more willing to help.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

There is nothing going on near this hotel. It is mainly for business travelers. Be prepared for a long walk to be near the attractions.

Great Hotel

This hotel was set in a quiet area about a 5 minute walk from a tram. All the staff spoke excellent English, as well as several other languages, and were very helpful. The rooms were very large by European standards and the beds were super comfy. I would stay here again.

Traveler's tip on dining

There is a small place to eat in the nearby square called London, excellent food at decent prices.

Would use again in a heart beat

The hotel was impressive in its decor and maintenance. The room itself was very nice and comfortable but the best part was their beds and linens. These were the most comfortable beds I have ever been on and the linen were as soft as silk. I had 2 great nights of sleep. They also had a very impressive high end fitness club with all of the amenities.

Pretty good hotel, but only pretty good.

The hotel does a lousy job at being a 5 star hotel, but an acceptable job as a 4 star. Walking distance form the city, although there is also a public bus around the corner. The fitness center and pool area are good, but there is absolutely no SPA worth talking about. Room ok, except we had to order an extra heater. Breakfast was ok. We would definitely come back, but with much lower expectations.

Traveler's tip on dining

Try the restaurant accross the street at the Raddisson...

Great hotel

We booked a deluxe room with king size bed and the room was very nice when we walked in. Super clean bathroom and bedding was sparkling white. Super! The bed, however, was way too soft, impossible to sleep in without a backache in the morning. Huge window opened just a little and there was no air flow. Air condition, even though it was set on the lowers setting possible, was not working properly at all and room was incredibly stuffy and hot. And those are the only complaints we had. It was impossible to change the room because hotel was all booked. However, we did enjoy the great gym and the pool. Staff was very friendly.

Wont go back

The hotel was awful. The room was too noisy. No water in the room. Internet connection did not work. Food was mediocre, and overpriced. The only saving grace was the location. Its close to the parliment and the museums.

Great hotel

Hotel was great. The staff couldn’t have been friendlier or more helpful. The buffet breakfast was excellent. Pretty good location, within walking distance to shopping and just a short taxi or bus ride to attractions.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

Best way to see the sights in Brussels is to use the Hop on Hop off tourist bus. Ticket is good for 24 hours and the bus route goes by all the major attractions. You can get on and off as often as you like. Great value for the money.

A great value, this hotel is very nice and the staff is excellent

In a nice area near the train station and close enough to the center of town to walk everywhere. Parking can be a bit tricky there, but there is a garage around the corner. The bar and restaurant are excellent, and I had no problems communicating in English.

The indoor pool is a must

Great location, 5 blocks from metro station. The indoor pool, sauna and jacuzzy is like heaven after a long day walking.

IF BACK IN BRUSSELS WILL CERTAINLY GO BACK TO THIS HOTEL

Very freindly atmosphere, extremely helpful staff that go out of thei way to please clients, breakfast was fantastic,I was especially pleased to find that some of the staff spoke Arabic language, and even one of the front office ladies spoke six languages(very impressive). The only drawback was room service which took a bit of a long time to deliver orders. I would strongly recommend this hotel.

Good Value for Money

Because 4 star hotels in Brussels are generally very expensive, I was just thrilled to get the price that i got on Expedia for the quality service received at the hotel. Great breakfast buffet, nice rooms, central location to EU organisations such as the EU Parliament, 5 minutes walk from metro and 5 to 10 minutes from 2 good shopping areas.

Wonderful hotel, great price!

Stayed at this hotel for two days during our recent trip to Brussels. Staff was wonderful, room great, very attentive to our needs. The breakfast buffet was wonderful as well. I definitely recommend it. Close by to transportation and easy to get to local sightseeing.

Very good

This was a wonderful hotel, run "American style." Champagne and chocolates upon arrival, exemplary customer service, and well appointed rooms...what you would expect of Marriot. The only drawbacks: the hotel is not in the city center, but it is a very small city and took only a few minutes on the metro to get there; the hot-tub is kept at 35 degrees celcius, which is 95 degrees (the standard in the states is between 102-104). Overall though, a nice hotel.

Traveler's tip on shopping

Of course you will want to buy chocolates....there are plenty of shops to choose from, but if you go to a grocery store, you can buy the same chocolates for about 1/4 of the price.

A fortunate choice

We had never visited Brussels before so we had no idea about hotels, sights, location, etc. After reviewing several offered by Expedia we selected the Brussels Renaissance and was pleased in every way. WE are glad we chose this hotel. It deserves it’s high ratings. It is very clean, comfortable and supported by an efficient and friendly staff. Public and tourist transportation is nearby. We were completely satisfied and recommend it without reservation. Hey, what’s not to like about a hotel that greets you with Belgian choclates when you register.

Traveler's tip

If this is your first trip to Brussels consider taking one of the tour "on and Off" buses from Parc Luxemborg Square, only two blocks from the hotel, for a quick orientaion of the city.

Renaissance Brussels Hotel

The Renaissance Brussels Hotel is a really neat hotel that is conveniently located near various restaurants and its not too far from the Grand Place (tourist attraction) with taxis waiting for your right outside the hotel door. The hotel also offers a variety of day trips touring the highlights of Belgium, but make sure you purchase your trips in advace because it can be costly if you pay in Euros!!
