Charming Hotel... Excellent Location!
We were impressed from the time we walked through the front door. The room was comfortable and clean with a nice decor. The fruit left out for us upon our arrival was a nice touch. The staff was very friendly and eager to assist. From restaurant suggestions to tour information, the front desk staff was very knowledgeable. They made our dinner reservations, called taxis, recommended the best chocolatiers, etc. The breakfast buffet was a hardy breakfast including scrambled eggs, hot and cold meats, cheeses, cereals, breads, juices and champagne! The hotel is centrally located one block from Market Square within easy walking distance of everything. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Very nice hotel, but a few minor glitches
The hotel is very nice and the staff are very friendly. Still for a luxury hotel, there were a few glitches: I requested a wake-up call from the front desk, and followed the instructions to program a wake-up call automatically from the phone. Neither happened - luckily I woke up in time to catch my train/flight, but had to skip the (very nice looking) breakfast. The king-sized bed was two twin beds pushed together, which normally I dont mind but the bed was a bit on the saggy side. Overall my stay was pretty nice and the location is great, just around the corner from the main square. For the price though I might be tempted to try something else the next time around, just to have some variety.

Perfect in every way
This hotel was everything we had hoped for in a dreamy city. The staff was wonderful! (Everyone in Brugges speaks at least 4 languages)They gave us all the tools we needed when we checked in, making us eager to get out and explore. They gave us maps, tid-bits of information and key points to see. Very helpful. We didnt think anything would outshine the greeting we had just received, but when we stepped into our room, we were in awe. The use of space was well planned. The decorations were lovely. There was internet conn in the room, fruit waititng, ample lighting & everything we needed. It even had a chandelier. Very romantic. Breakfast had all the bases covered. Fruit, bread, cheese, fish, yogurt & fresh juices. Just what we needed to stroll the city. The room & bathroom were clean and comfortable. Loved the fact you could control the pressure and temp of the water. We had a street-side room and in the guest directory, they tell you they doubled glazed the windows to reduce noise when windows are shut. At night we slept soundly. Our second night I had to open one of the curtains a little to let the sun in at daybreak because the black out curtains worked so well, I was afraid of sleeping in. All in all, wonderful all around. The hotel added just what was needed to end a long day walking the streets of a beautiful city. A place to rest and feel relaxed. And we didnt even use all the hotel had to offer. Cant wait to go back.
Traveler's tip on shopping
One must find and stop at Dumon Chocolate shop at Walstraat 6. It is family run. They have the smoothest, creamiest, melt in your mouth creations I have ever tasted. Bring as much back as you can. Also there was a silversmith that had the most original & organic creations I have seen in a long time. He had a little shop called Ginkgo at Walplein 21. Both places will give you something original to remember the city by.
