NH Vienna Airport

The only true airport hotel

When I have a forced overnight in Vienna due to the normal Austrian Airlines flight schedule, I prefer to book a room in the NH Airport. The airline will normally book you in a less expensive hotel (and not even half as nice) far away from anything, so the taxi to and from Vienna will cost about 90 euros. As a result, I will always pay for the room at the NH instead of taking the "free" room. The CAT express train to the city is 16 euros roundtrip, I can wake up later the next morning, and the included breakfast is decent. The hotel is literally right across the street from the airport. My only complaints are that the bathroom should have been a little cleaner and that the TV reception is horrible on about half the channels. I was forced to return to the hotel to watch TV since I was tired of being drenched in the cold December rain.

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

Don’t get money out of the airport. The exchange rates are horrible. Pay for the CAT express train with your credit card. It’s only 16 euros roundtrip or 9 euros one way. Then, take money out of the ATM or exchange money in the city. If you have time or want to save even more money, take the slightly slower S lines. A taxi will cost about 40-45 euros each way to Vienna.

very convenient, would stay there again

This hotel is very convenient to the Vienna airport, just across the street. We would recommend it highly for a late arrival or early departure. The staff at the desk are friendly and helpful. There is an excellent restaurant. The rooms are comfortable and maintained well.
