A friendly hotel on the Grand Canal
A friendly hotel with the hustle of travelers coming into Venice right outside the door; water taxi and vaporetto service, restaurants and bank a few steps away. Our room faced the Grand Canal, although not all rooms have a view. Staff was friendly; breakfast was good, except for the coffee, although one could request a pot of passable coffee with milk. Downsides: the elevator to our part of the building was out of order, the in-room safe didn’t work and the tub/shower combination was very awkward to use.
We had a great time at Musica a Palazzo, a company of actors and singers who put on abbreviated versions of Italian operas in a rundown palace -- a good way to see how the wealthy of Venice once lived and to hear good music.

Great Hotel
Everything was great, the bed was very comfortable and the room was beautiful, everyone was very helpful and professional.Had a great time!

Be careful
Hotel is in sad condition in some areas. Had to request a room change because heat was stuck on and phone wire was torn from wall connection. No Internet whatsoever. Only option is internet cafe up the street. No AC dispite what was hot weather in my opinion. Only heat. Had to leave windows open, without screens, to try and be comfortable. On the positive side, you cannot beat this location. Literally 2 minutes walk from the train station and almost right on the grand canal. Staff was very nice and accomidating. Had higher expectations at this price level even for Venice.
