Will Be Staying At This Hotel Again!

This is a great hotel for travelers who want to be in an amazing location for a really good price. The rooms were kept clean except the walls were stained and they were pretty thin. It worked out well for us because we were only in the room at night to sleep so any faults the hotel had didn’t really matter to us. The location is just amazing, right near the Eiffel Tower, and also the street that leads to Hotel des Invalides is full of interesting shops, bakeries, and cafes.

Chilly inside and out

There was no heat in our hotel and we did not know this until after we had checked in and gone up to our room. The hotel staff was neither apologetic about this fact nor did they offer us any amenities to deal with the fact that our room was 40 degrees. When I asked for a discount at checkout due to the discomfort of sleeping in a freezing room, the woman at the desk said she would consult her manager and let me know but I never heard anything.

paris hotels

good little hotel in a great neighborhood with a family upscale feel. Good breakfast, but like all hotels in Paris, not cheap.

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

Less expensive hotels are available in Paris farther from the center and are better value. It is easy to get anywhere you want on the metro. Breakfast is cheaper at a bar. Starbucks here has french flair and is good value.

Threadbare and cramped

Great location--near the Eiffel Tower and on a quiet street in a good residential neighborhood. But the rooms were tiny and there were few amenities. The stall shower was so small you couldn’t bend over to pick up the soap (and the floor was the only place to put it). The "elevator" accommodated only two people, and only if they were very very friendly. The "double bed" consisted only of two beds pushed together, which slowly slid apart during the night. Not much comfort for a weary traveler at this hotel.

We would go back!

The Hotel overall is very clean and renovated. The front desk staff is friendly and very helpful. Sometimes we had trouble with the (free) wireless signal. In those cases they let us use the cable in the manager’s office for a short time. They even organized an adapter for us to recharge the battery of our camera. All the rooms are very small (as expected in Paris) but clean and pretty new. The room we ended up getting was nice and met our expectation and needs. The location of the Hotel is great, within walking distance to Eiffel Tower, Musee D’Orsay, etc. and Seine. There are several Metro, Tour bus and train stations nearby and, of course, dozens of bakeries, restaurants and bistros. I can only recommend this Hotel. We had a great stay!

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

There is a wonderful restaurant just around the corner, L’Auberge du Champs de Mars. A three course dinner costs about 20 Euros. A bargain for what you get.

You get what you pay for

We were in Paris for a week. The location is excellent. Metro stop close by. The room was comfortable and clean. The staff is extremely friendly and very helpful. Remember this is Europe and so you not going to get rooms like we accustomed to in the U.S. All in all very happy got what I paid for.

Exactly what we were looking for!!

My husband and I wanted to find a cozy hotel in Paris and that is exactly what we got! It is located on a quiet side street, just a 4 minute walk from the Eiffel Tower. Great restaurants and shopping are also nearby. We were very impressed with the hotel’s cleanliness and personnel was also very helpful. The night clerk spoke little english, but was still very helpful. All the other workers spoke very good english and were extremely helpful. We give this hotel 2 thumbs up and would LOVE to stay there again on our next trip to Paris!

many things to improve

Restored or to be restored, as indicated everywhere in the hotel, some comfort is nevertheless available including Wifi: the breakfast is poor (no good croissants and the like) and breakfast attendants are more interested chatting with eachother about private matters than welcoming the clients.

A Great Stay in Paris

I chose this hotel because of the location and I was right about it being in a great location. I wanted to be close to the Eiffel Tower and I got it. A must know when choosing Hotel in Paris is that the Eiffel Tower located on the most expensive district of Paris. The rooms were acurately described (very small)and we were more than happy with the cleanliness. On Dec 24 we woke up with no water. We took a shower around 11:30 pm. That got us a free brekfast in the hotel. The staff is superb, The best. They were all so nice. My only complaint is the driver that took me and my family to the airport. He was disrepectful and nasty all. He is from somewhere in Southwest Asia. I can tell because of my military experience.

Traveler's tip on recreational activities

If you are staying in this hotel, most of the attractions are within walking distance, believe me. Use buses only when necessary.

Compromised quality for location

We chose this hotel because of the location and were right about it being in a great location. Very close to the Eiffel Tower and there were plenty of choices for dining. The rooms were acurately described and we were more than happy with the cleanliness. Our issues were--the heat was not working properly and our room was cold. We heard another guest complaining about the same thing, management told them they had a plumber there earlier that day and had called them back. It didn’t work properly for the 3 nights we were there. We were lucky to have an extra blanket in the closet as they were hard to come by. The walls were very thin and other guests were not very considerate of others. The hotel breakfast was the best deal we found and we were very happy with it. It is not handicap accessible even using the elevator.

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

If you are looking for a good location near the Eiffel Tower it was a good find for the money.

Great choice

The hotel was in an awesome neighborhood. Very small and very quiet and yet right next to a tourist area. There was very cheap food within a small walking distance and the metro ran very close as well. The hotel itself was nice. My only problem with it was that we did not receive the complimentary shampoos as we needed them. The maid would never replenish the soaps unless you went down and asked. That was such a trivial thing compared to everything else though. I thoroughly recommend this place and will hopefully be going back.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

The Eiffel tower is as close as they say it is. Also, in the direction opposite of the tower is Invalides, the ballet, and the petite Palais. Throughout all of these sites at your fingertips is the Seine River. For the price and location, you really can’t beat this hotel.

A begrudging yes

If all you need is a bed, this might be the hotel for you. It’s location is fabulous! Steps around the corner from the Champs de Mars and the Eiffel Tower. If you plan on spending any time during the day in your hotel room, this is not the place for you. The wallpaper is peeling off the walls. The hallways are dark and dingy. If you arrive at night, like we did, you might question whether you want to stay or not! However, the beds were clean and comfortable. We stayed three to the room and it was very tight. The bathroom and shower are particularly tight. The shower is a scant 18x20 inches, no shelves inside to hold your stuff and the doors swing in and out from the middle. You must leave your shampoo, etc on the counterand reach out for them when needed. It is so tight once you are in that you might accidentally bump into the handle and turn off the water. If you drop the soap, you have to get out and reach down for it! All in all, it was adequate and we were glad for the bed after long days of exploring fabulous Paris. There is a lovely desk girl during the days that speaks perfect english and was very helpul.

Traveler's tip on dining

There is a lovely bakery just around the corner. Pick up some breakfast - follow your nose- and take it down the street into the Champs de Mars. Sit at the nearest bench and enjoy your breakfast in the shadow of the Eiffle Tower. Watch out for the scammers that are rampant here... It starts with, Do you spea English? Just say NO!

Great Location

The hotel was in a great location but needed work. The rooms were clean but worn out. The front desk was very helpful making restaurant reservations etc.

Traveler's tip

Make sure you ride the Hop On Hop Off buses. It is well worth it to buy a 2-day pass. The buses go everywhere and a ride is nice after all the walking you will do.

Not good

The rooms were incredibly small (even by European standards), not clean. TV was 6 inches and all french channels. When we got there we left our bags and went looking for a nicer place around the area. The only good thing is location but you can really do better. I have been in Paris about 10 times. This has been the worst hotel.

The Hotel With a cat

The hotel is a typical parisian 2 star. Small rooms, small showers. But I must say it is the smallest I have ever seen. That is not the impresive part. There is a cat in the hotel. They let you know at the door, with a sign that says to be careful with the door so that it doesnt get out. The cat was sleeping on our bed when we came into the room, and it jumped on my wifes lap when we were having breakfast. It is fine for cat lovers I guess, but for my cat-allergic wife. It was hell. It was intrusive and really unthoughtful to have the cat around every single part of the hotel.

Traveler's tip

This hotel is in a "rue" that is not on the map. so it is a bit hard to find.

Great spot!

This is a great hotel with fantastic staff. The location is perfect. The rooms were definitely small, so be prepared. The hotel was very charming, very clean, quite street, great bakery down the road, and friendly staff. We would definitely go back!

Great Paris hotel

So in booking online I didnt expect such high quality without actually seeing the place first. However the three of us were very impressed with the place, it was very cute too....There were cats, lol, not sure how ppl may feel about that. And one downfall initially was the cleanliness and presentation of the road that it’s on but barring that, the location was fabulous. They’re not lying, it really is a very easy walk to the eiffel tower, lovely cafes and restaurants in close vicinity. Overall what a great trip!

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

Especially if you’re not staying too long! Definitely do the paris hop on and hop off tour which u can sign up for on expedia.. its really informative, excellent sightseeing and here’s a hint- consider it free transport ALL around paris. great deal. you can with this, go to the eiffel tower, le louvre, notre dame cathedral, arc de triupmh, champs elysees and several others with time at each in only 2 days.

Great location but a little cramped

The staff was incredibly nice. Their English was much better than my French. The room was always clean and in good working order. Our room had a great view of the Eiffel Tower but was very small for two people (we later learned that some other rooms had much more space). The shower was VERY small. We would stay here again but would request a larger room.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

This hotel is only a block away from the quaint Rue Cler area and two blocks from the Parc Champ du Mars overlooking the Eiffel Tower. It also very close to the Metro (E’cole Militarie). There are several great bistros and bakeries nearby (Le Bosquet, Le Florimand).

A Great Location

This hotel is in the best location in Paris. It is a 5 walk to the Eiffel Tower and about a 15 minute walk to Musee Du Louvre and Musee D’Orsay. It is right around a lot of small shops and places to eat. This is the best centralized location for anyone going to Paris.

Traveler's tip

Take some comfortable walking shoes to see the city on foot.

Small but Great Location

My boyfriend & I enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Eiffel Rive Gauche in March. The hotel is small, but the staff is very friendly & helpful. Some comments have been made about mold on the walls of the room. Our room did not have mold on the walls, although there were places that had some dirt on them. The room we were in could use a coat of paint, but beyond that the room was perfectly nice. You aren’t paying top dollar for this hotel, so you can’t expect a 4 star experience. For the money though, the hotel is FANTASTIC. The Eiffel Tower is literally a 5 minute walk away. You go around the block & there it is. The breakfast in the morning was wonderful as well. Very fresh baked goods and ever so French. Loved it. That food gave me a boost for the day of walking all around town. If your room says it has a shower, there is also a sink, but the toilet is in a public space. Great hotel for the money. Nice staff.

Quaint and cute

This hotel was in a great location...situated in a small alley just off a main street in the city, the hotel was very near the Eiffel Tower and other tourist sites. It was very cute and gave off a homely feel. The room was very clean and comfortable. The staff was kind and the language was not a problem. The only downfall was that our room did not have a window, which made for a tight and dark feel. All in all, I would recommend this hotel to others and I will go back to this hotel. The price, location, and quality is unbeatable.

Perfect Place Perfect Staff

The Hotel Eiffel Rive Gauche is a charming hotel right down the street from the Eiffel Tower. It is on a very quiet street in a great area for sightseeing and eating. The hotel room was small, but only by American standards, and the bathroom was immaculate. The breakfast was excellent and highly recommended, as the same thing would cost about 12 dollars right down the street. I would definitely stay here again.

Traveler's tip on dining

This hotel is about a 3-minute walk from the Eiffel Tower and on the corner about 1oo meters from Le Violon d’Ingres restaurant, which is the perfect French restaurant.
