NOt worth the money

I felt like this hotel charged uptown prices for a very basic stay. Things that are free at middle class hotels like parking & internet were extras!

Nicer than expected

We were in Boise recently for wedding. The city didn’t have many choices in higher star hotels. I was pleasantly surprised. The hotel was in beautiful downtown, valet service (not cheap, and the valet was also the bellman, so it took a little extra time, but still..)Along with us, a bachelorette party and an indoor football team was checking in for the weekend. Noticing the condition of the room (cracks in the tile in bathroom, worn areas of the carpet), I believe this hotel is often used to "party". However, we heard no noise, had a beautiful view, and really enjoyed it. Room service was fast, delicious, and relatively inexpensive.

Traveler's tip on nightlife

The bar by the lobby was pleasant, had some interesting people there, and was -for our Las Vegas standards- a great $ deal.

Don’t Go!

We had horrible service. Part of the building is a convention center and they didn’t even know the convention’s time frame. Therefore, breakfast was a nightmare because they were very short on staff. Even the staff complained! the people who ordered room service were showing up at the restaurant after two hours of a wait and were being served and seated before us. The parking garage also serviced the public, so at one point it was full and we had no where to park. Never mind the rude man at the gate who told me very snottily "when all else fails read the directions" rather than help me figure out how to get out. The pool and work out area is NOT open 24 hours as posted, we got stuck on the elevator because it was closed. The manager said "oh, we just haven’t changed the signs, yet". My husband offered to change them with a sledgehammer-they were behind glass cases. (this had been about our 4th altercation, already) the last and final straw was when at 3:00 p.m.ish a maid walked in on me getting ready for a shower. The room had already been cleaned. Her excuse-someone told her we were checked out. We had two more days! We seriously wondered WHY she was entering our room. It was an utter disaster. I can’t mention another hotel specifically, but the rest of our wedding party had a wonderful experience at another hotel very close by. We’re thinking of demanding a refund.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

HaPenny is a great, fun bar-family friendly, music Fri night. Saturday market is right downtown, great stuff to browse through. Starts at 9:30 a.m. Iloved dowtown Boise! up a bit north is river rafting on the Payette-contact Cascade Raft and Kayak-they wer excellent. Go up to Table rock to see the sights, in need of a little spiffing up, but cool. take some of the other roads up there and explore the foothills. Have fun!
