Would not stay at this hotel or in this neighborhood again

Very Bad

Dirty, in bad need of simple repairs. A/C did not work in whole complex. Although the people at the front desk were friendly and sympathetic, they did not have a clue as how to satisfy a complaint. After the first night I moved to another hotel. Expedia was helpful in refunding my money for the difference.

Would never recommend

We had 2 nights reserved. Only stayed 1 night due to holes in walls, uncomfortable bed & over dinginess of room. Stayed 2nd night elsewhere much nicer & comfortable.

Before leaving on my trip, I saw the previously posted reviews on this hotel. So I made a reservation at a different hotel, just in case. When I arrived in Phoenix, I checked the hotel. Outside of hotel appeared OK but the neighborhood seemed restless. The hotel offered to change my room to the top floor so I would feel safer. I decided to not stay here

Can’t believe this is an option on Expedia

When we arrived there was a handwritten sign that stated the air conditioning was going to be down for a few days due to maintenance. That should have been our first clue. The room was dirty, the tv didn’t work correctly, the mini fridge wasn’t cold, the ice machine wasn’t working, and we couldn’t access the ’net from our room. I can sum it up as the worst hotel/motel that I’ve ever stayed in.

The nightlife in the Mesa area is non-existent. I won’t stay in Mesa again.

Scared for our Safety at This Hotel

Do not choose this hotel, no matter how cheap it is. It’s not worth the price. I would have gladly shelled out some cash once I arrived to see where I was staying to move to another hotel. It was so run down. The AC barely works, you can’t get more than 2 towels per room, there were people LIVING in this hotel, people sleeping in the hallways, crazy scarey stuff going on at night in the halls. I was scared for our safety, even during the day. BAD part of town. Again, not worth the savings. This hotel is not being maintained, everything is run down.

Royal Mesa Inn -- Not Fit for Peasants

The hotel has full wireless connectivity and decent facilities, but is frankly filthy. What the hotel needs is a wall to wall scrubbing. Also, as a conservation measure, the hot water pressure is next to nothing, making a decent shower near impossible. However, the hotel is equipped with working sauna, hot tub and nice pool area. The weight room is in need of severe cleaning. The staff is friendly. The servicing staff is a different matter. The only real service they did was change the towels and re-make the bed during my week long stay.

Royal Pain in the ....

This motel smelled like dog urine in the lobby although no pets were allowed. The bathroom had new tile but that was about it. The train tooted its horn for 10 minutes at 4 am and there were many kids partying the whole night in the hallway and the front desk refused to ask them to be quiet. There is no "front desk" there is a kid working the desk that has no personality or brains.

Not Impressed

For the outside the hotel looks very nice. Room was relatively clean, but not great. Fresh, uncleaned burn marks evident. Shower not very clean. Not a bad night’s sleep, but this hotel room has seen better days. Considering the price not too terrible.

Never Go Back

This hotel was disgusting. Everything was old. Sheets were stained. Old towels. Asked for another pillow and they told us they didn’t have any extra when there was barely anyone at the hotel. Not a 2 star rated hotel as listed on expeda.

One of the worst

Room service came about mid-day and we asked if they could come back in about 45 minutes, because we were just about ready to leave for the day. When we returned later that evening nothing had been done. The beds had not been made, trash was still in the room and no clean towels. When we arrived I looked under the beds and I shouldn’t have.....

Not what we were looking for

In a terrible part of town. Very crime ridden. We did not know this when we booked the room and only found this out when my granddaughter become extremely ill and we needed a 24 hour drug store. People kept sending us to one location after another to only find each location closed. We found out the next day from the emergency room staff, all the drug stores close early in that part of town because of the high number of armed robberies and crime. If that is true or not, I do not know. But, these places were opened 24 hours when our daughter lived there 2 years ago. So what happened if not crime? I felt bad for the owners. The staff was very friendly. They can not help what has happened to thier community.
