Value and convenience
This hotel is a really good value. I stay over in Portland often and I’m sorry I didn’t know about it sooner. Free parking is a plus and you can easily walk to Nob Hill restaurants, shops and the streetcar.

Over priced
The hotel was ok, easy to find. I drove from San Francisco and I stayed 3 nights. I enjoyed Portland. But I expected more from the hotel, for the priced paid. Seriously, for the same trip cost, I’d rather go to Las Vegas. Prices should be much lower: if you feel it is expensive, then it is; and be prepared to be disappointed.

Comfort Away from Portland City Center
Silver Cloud Inn Portland,OR is a well-run and well-maintained property located on the edge of a fashionable, largely residential area well away from the city’s downtown. Some may consider this a disadvantage, other not. And all should be glad that the hotel is not part of a motel strip. Pleasant, knowledgeable staff. Everything in the large room was in good working order. And there is ample free parking. That makes the reasonable room rates even more attractive. Drawbacks? No restaurant or bar and the uninspired (is there any other kind?) Continental is served in rather cramped quarters. Fortunately, the neighborhood has numerous places to slake hunger and thirst. Public transportation is nearby, and getting to and from the major roadways is a breeze. All and all, a good hotel and a good value, but not for those who miss the hustle and bustle of downtown Portland.
