Not Impressed

In general, the hotel was good but: 1- Hotel was quite old. 2- Internet was very expensive compare to the others. 3- Unprofessional staff of reception and during Check-In/Out.

It is a nice Hotel

It was very convienent for us because we had a softball game next door and we live in Abu Dhabi. The food service food was good. I would recomend this hotel. Not very busy, which was fine for me.

The hotel is fairly old but renovated to keep it with modern day hotels. They try hard to keep customers happy by upgrading rooms and giving complimentary items. They only had 2 non smoking rooms on the 4th floor, but it did not make a difference because you can actually smell the smoke of cigars, sheesha, and cigs. in your room. The price of the room is fairly cheap in comparison to other hotels, however room service and resturants in the hotel are very expensive.

Its right in the middle of shiekh zayed road which is convieniantly close to everything.

Good location, great service

The hotel was easy to access, upon check in I went to the suite entrance and instead of sending me off to the main desk they checked me into a suite for no additional charge. Good variety of restaurants on premises. The in room internet never worked properly so I had to get a wifi card from the front desk for 100dh or $30us which only worked in certain areas of the lobby. WIFI should be free.

Good value

The hotel is OK. It’s old but it’s functional -just. Lack of electrical sockets (inlcuding the ones in the closet!?). I work in my room on trips - the chair/desk ratios are wrong and to plugin a laptop and get on the web takes ingenuity. Still, it’s good value and the pub keeps it on my "go back to list" of hotels.

Traveler's tip for business travelers

Has it’s own taxi rank, which is a big bonus in Dubai - 15 minutes to Jebel ali if that is where your business is -not a good location for downtown visits. Red Lion pub is great value.

Good deal

As a business traveller the hotel was fine. The Red Lion pub offers a good palce to relax, meet people and have a casual dinner/lunch. Taxi service is readily available. Internet works fine. There is nothing glitzy about this place but it functions very well. If your doing buisness downtown it is not the place to be, but for Marina/Jebel Ali, it’s good.

To get a hotel which has it’s own taxi rank is a huge plus.

With a little effort this could be a great hotel

The room was shabby with old brown furniture which had seen better days. Given an upgrade the hotel would be very pleasant. Staff except at check out were very helpful. Don Carleone is possibly one of the better and more authentic Italian restaurants I have eaten at in 25 years of business travel. I have stayed here before and check out is terrible. They charge an undisclosed amount of money to your card when you check in. They then cancel this and re-charge you for the real costs. Nothing is said about interest you pay on the original sum!

Not overly impressed

Have stayed here on several previous occasions and had never been that satisfied with it as a 4 star hotel. The only reason I stayed here this time was the excellent price that was on offer. Good location on the main Sheik Zayed Rd, although front rooms can be a little noisy. As Dubai hotels go, this is OK, but not up to 4 start standards.

Same distance to everywhere

Hotel is nearly on the center to many activities. Shopping malls, beach......You pay nearly same taxi fee to everywhere.
