OK Resort

Just like Expedia categorize this resort as a 2-1/2 star, it is a 2-1/2 star resort and nothing else, but having said that, we got what we expected. The staff was mostly nice to us, except for the bell boy who expected and waited for a tip even though gratuities are included and the receptionist from whom we got no orientation whatsoever. The waiters at the restaurant were exceptionally attentive and gave us a lot of tips to make our stay more confortable and save us a few dollars, they were our travel guides for the area.

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

Don’t be afraid of using public transportation and asking around for places to go, the locals were usually very nice and would go out of their way to try to help you and suggest places to go and how to get there.

if you get by on basic spanish, tesoro is not for you... go somewhere else for comfort.

don’t get me wrong, i have been to 8 other mexico all inclusives and i like the style. i do want to able to relax. Unfortuantely if you are one that gets by with basic spanish, this is not the hotle for you. Pool staff, housekeeping, room service restaurant, bartenders, kids club, security are lucky to have 1 in 30 that speak basic english. Shows and activities are 100% spanish. the front desk will find a staff member to help you if needed. the room was dirty. the closet shelves were covered in a lot of construction dust. The safe was missing from the room, and the front desk was surprised to find that out. We were yelled out for taking out lunch plate from the pool to the lobby to eat in the shade. I guess that is a major faux-pas in this hotel. the pool is overrun with kids, and they use the relaxing areas in the pool (the submerged lounge area) as a diving board. don’t expect to get any rest at the pool. In 10 days, never found the jacuzzi, despite them advertising that there was one. Only bar open durring the day is the swim up one with 2 bartenders for the entire hotel, lobby bar is only open at night. if they give you a room in the garden section, change. it is in the basement of the hotel, no window, and the door opens onto a concrete wall. we were not in these rooms, but spoke to some that were. The hotel was well maintained, the towel birds created each day were nice, food was good. but I was not comfortable.
