Cheap-you get what you pay for!
We had reservations about staying at this hotel due to some negative reviews. Good points:cheap, very centrally located. The metro and bus stops are right up the block on the corner. The hotel is located down an alley like street which also houses several other small hotels and the back entrance of a theater. Not so good points: Its really run down. The elevator is tiny!. The breakfast consists of cold cereals, an assortment of small croissants and rolls with butter and jam, scrambled eggs and "sausage"(looked like hot dogs to me). If you come down after 9am,they stop serving the eggs. The coffee is bad even by American standards. Go across the street to the bakery or around the corner to the cafe. Great croissants and cappucino! The rooms are tiny, the bathrooms tinier. The shower ...if you weigh more than 125 pounds your body will accidentally turn off the shower when you turn around. The bedding, while clean, is threadbare in spots, but the beds were surprisingly comfortable. The curtains were worn and frayed and more than a littly dingy. The walls were cracked and had signs of water damage. The wallpaper was peeling and old. However, our travelling companions room was in better shape-it appeared to have newer wall paper and fixtures. So, dont expect much if you go there. You know the old saying-you get what you pay for. But, the hotel did not detract from our stay in Paris.
Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay
Defintiely get the Metro pass "Paris Visite" and the Museum Pass-well worth it!!! And the view from the top of the Arc de Triomphe is better than the Eiffel Tower!

Good Stay
Overall my stay at this hotel was pretty good. I mean if you are looking to site see and spend the whole time outside the hotel then yes it is n economical place to stay at. The bathroom was big and clean. The metro was near and they have alot of great cafes... The metro is the cheapest way to go when traveling and sightseeing.
