Helpful Staff
I left jewelery at the hotel. It was found by staff & the hotel went out of their way to promptly send it back to me at no charge.

EXTREMELY RUDE & UNTRAINED PERSONNEL
GIVEN WORLD HOTEL STANDARDS: 1. Rivoli Sintra is NOT a 4 star hotel 2. The personnel is untrained. i.e. i walked into the hotel and stopped by the reception, which is together with a bar, to take pictures from the window-THE BAR HOST LITERALLY YELLED AT ME BECAUSE I HAD A BOTTLE OF WATER PURCHASED FROM OUTSIDE..!!! 2.THE ROOMS do not have pressing boards or iron, so I asked for it at the reception, BUT the hotel would not lend me one. Therefore,I had to ask THEM to press my dress within 5hrs of my event; the hotel CHARGED ME 22.50 EUROS (US$30) to do the service which they called "urgent". 3. The overall hotel is screaming for a serious renovation.
Traveler's tip
BE AWARE, PRICES ARE NOT SET (AS IT SHOULD BE IN THE SO CALLED DEVELOPED COUNTRY, PORTUGAL) BUT THEY ARE NOT!!) AS THEY NORMALLY ARE IN DEVELOPED COUNTRIES...

Convenient hotel with good view
Comfortable rooms with interesting shopping area within 5 mins walk. Not all staff converse well in English but there are usual at least one who can speak well around. Breakfast was nice (especially the mushrooms ...) with a good variety.
Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay
Ask for high floor to get good view. I was allocated the first floor - cant see the nice mountain at the back. Take a taxi there (but it cost me 59 euro with the traffic jam, it usually only cost about 30-40+ euro), it may be difficult to walk up hill with luggage if you reach there by train / subway. However, you may go back to lisbon town by train (only cost a few euro) as it is relatively easy to drag the luggage downhill.
