Well-located in downtown Banff with free parking.
The Mount Royal is an older hotel but well-maintained. It appears to cater to travel groups. It is very well-located in downtown Banff with free parking so you can walk just about anywhere in town you wish to go. Our room was more than satisfactory. It was fairly large and while somewhat simply decorated, it was well-kept and had everything we needed, including a mini-refrigerator.

Dining opportunities are almost unlimited in downtown Banff. We especially enjoyed several choices of Japanese/sushi restaurants.

Comfortable room in a great location
Considering this is a prime tourist destination and the hotel is in the thick of things, the rate was very reasonable. We had reservations for one night and arrived a day early hoping to stay a second night. The staff were very helpful and friendly and we got the extra night at the same price. Free on-site parking was a consideration; very convenient. We didn’t use the hotel amenities beacause there were so many choices in the shopping area right outside the door. We would stay there again.
