Excellent location
Hotel is modest, small, uninspiring rooms, few if any amenities, beds leave a lot to be desired, but then prices are commensurate, too. What makes it worth recommending is the location, 15 min walk to Topkapi, Blue Mosque, Spice Bazaar, Eminonu docks for Bosphorus trips. Even better yet, take the tramway (station is 3 min walk) to get to same locations in 10 minutes or less and avoid steep hills (for elderly folks). Service was good, buffet decent (although pretty bland). Hotel has elevators (which is sometimes rare in this area). If you are looking for good value accommodation in an exceptional location, this is it.
Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks
Use the tramway or walk as much as possible. If you have to use a taxi, ask hotel to call one, otherwise you will end up visiting Ankara on your way to some nearby restaurant.
