This Place is a Mess
First off I want to say that the front desk staff, housekeeping services, and hotel maintaince crew tried to fix what was broken(ie: the telephone, leaking ceiling, etc)but the problems were within the phoneline and the plumbing of the room upstairs so it could not be fixed (not during my stay). This hotel really needs to be updated! Everything in the room was outdated and needed to be replaced. The beach was my reason for selecting this place and I was not disappointed with that. I will not return to Allegro until they make a new one!
Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks
The were a lot of places to shop. You can find everything in the Playa Dorado Complex. Also if you run out of something personal go to La Sirena (Wal-Mart)and they have everything you would need even a food court if you get tired of the all-inclusive meals.

It was a good hotel for the price.
This wa syhe second time Ive been here. It is a nice place to go and relax. There is also a club down the road if you wanted to go dancing. The casino was fun too if you like to gamble. The food was pretty good. The only thing I didnt like was the room. When we got there we didnt get the right room, so we had to wait till the next day to get the right room. I thought the room could of been a little cleaner. Over all it was a ice place to go.

Friendly staff, adequate accommodations
The employees are very friendly and genuinely happy to have you there. The hotel rooms are older and need some basic repairs/upgrades, but comfortable. The pool areas and beaches are nice and well maintained. The food at the buffet was very bland; at the restaurants (you have to make a reservation one day in advance) only slightly better. The casino is very small with only half the slot machines in working order and poor ventilation for cigarette smoke. Bottom line, you get what you pay for and for the price, it was fine. One major drawback: they also have a timeshare that they try to sell you every day. It was very annoying.
