not impressed
i understand that we were there during the off season, but there is nothing to do and NOTHING after 10pm is even open. The people were friendly, but the island was a complete letdown. i would suggest staying in savannah and going to the beach for the day.

Tybee Island- Ocean plaza resort.
I would only recommend this place due to location on the island. The rooms were fairly clean, however, the carpets need a good washing. My feet turned black on the bottom and I could not scrub the black off for days. Also, the restaurant was lacking. Both breakfast buffet and seafood were not worth the price I paid for them.
there is nothing to do on TYBEE ISLAND

Picture is deceiving
Although the photo in the ad makes it look like this hotel is on the beach it is NOT on the beach. There is a huge, ugly parking lot between building and beach, so our more expensive ocean-view room, was really a parking lot view with the ocean and beach much further away. The beach itself was beautiful, but the hotel was very sub-par, unless of course, you are a high school student or young college group on spring break. Bed was hard as a rock, bathroom was not very clean, nor was coffee maker. Balcony was small and unattractive and you could hear everything your neighbors were saying. Never again!
Traveler's tip on dining
In Savannah, be sure to try Churchhills for dinner. Wonderful service, wonderful atmosphere, wonderful food.
