Great hotel, but only if you are not an interstate traveler
I have no complaints about the hotel itself, but the location is extremely inconvenient for interstate travelers. We only chose Longview for its location along the interstate, but this hotel is located almost 20 minutes off of the highway.

Very comfortable hotel
Front desk was very helpful with navigation, restaurant recommendations, help with an all night pharmacy.

okay visit
The Wingate in Longview is a comfortable hotel with large rooms and high-speed internet access with comfy beds. However, the hotel is showing its age a bit as my bathroom faucet was loose and other signs of minor deterioration were evident. Also, the high-speed was only 10.0 mps versus other hotels I’ve stayed at with 100.0 mps. The other downfall was the girl that was manning the desk on a late Tuesday night was having a lot of trouble checking in a person ahead of me. Then it was my turn, and she just couldn’t understand that Expedia was paying the bill. Bottom line: a good place to stay but not a great one.

A Very Functional Hotel
Longview doesn’t have a lot of options when it comes to hotels (its 2-3 stars at best), so I did a lot of research to distinguish between all of the hotels. In this hotel, there were some weird contradictions like, gourmet coffee in the room, a nice hot/cold breakfast, and comfy linens on the bed, but the towels were small and scratchy. The staff was nice. One drawback, the fitness room was terrible with old and rusty machines, however you can visit a nearby gym for free and that was great. Finally, there was a fridge in the room and that was helpful for storing water, soda etc.
