it was everything we expected. the room style wise was a little outdated but like i said, perfect location, clean, nice neighborhood, blocks from the state line, and good natured and caring staff.

Nice hotel!

Good nice and clean rooms, nice pool and hot tub area with some sunbeds. Great staff! Very close (walking distance) to the casino’s and shopping centre.

ok, but you could do better

The hotel was older and needed to be updated, especially the bath rooms. The pool was nice and the rooms were clean and quiet, all a plus for a family, but for the price I think I would go with a time share in the future.

Comfortable place for the price.

I had read other reviews for the hotel and knew what I getting. Once there, it was exactly as described as previous reviewers - no surprises. There are many amenities for the price, the best of which was the refrigerator; this allowed us to store perishable food in there without having to eat out too much. The hotel is perfectly located near the CA-NE state line, so my wife and were able to comfortably walk around the area without having to drive to many places. There were shops, cafés, a supermarket, a beach (which has free access with the hotel voucher - don’t forget to ask for this!) My only complaints are: 1) the beds are WAY TOO FIRM! They felt like we were sleeping on the floor. In fact, we hardly slept at all because of this. 2) the overall LOOK of the place. The hotel could definitely use an overhaul: paint chipping, marks on the walls, toilet seat cracking. Of course, most of this is superficial. In the end, we were content, but not entirely happy with our stay there. Of course, I was satisfied that it came with so many amenities to make our stay comfortable; it just didn’t look all that nice.

The price is right

While the hotel is older, they have done a fairly good job of updating the hotel. The location is good ... a block and a half from Stateline ... and 3 blocks from the beach. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The continental breakfast was donuts, coffee and juice. During our visit, the ice machine was empty ... but the staff said that the guests had most likely cleaned it out to fill their ice chests. Within an hour, they had gone to the store and half filled it with ice while the machine tried to refill itself. All in all, I would stay there again if the price was as good as it was for this trip.

Don’t even worry about a taxi or shuttle to and from casino’s hotel is within walking distance very close.

It was a really decent hotel.

I liked how our room was very roomy. and furniture was atleast some what updated. I would recommend it.

Great location

The best thing about this hotel, is the location. the people in the office are very nice and helpful. I left a make up bag and although at first they said nothing was turned in, they double checked and found it. The bed is so uncomfortable, very hard and poor quality. I am going to try another hotel in the area next time.

Will be back for ski season!

I have stayed at Blue Lake Inn twice now for America’s Most Beautiful Bike Ride. I continue to be very happy with this hotel. The front desk staff is very couteous and friendly. The room was very clean and comfortable. All my needs were promptly met. I will definitely stay here again and again!

simple and inexpensive

This hotel is a good place to stay for the convenience of the location. Heavenly was just a stones throw. We also walked to the beach of Lake Tahoe. The rooms were clean and simple. Alot of noice though from other guest in nearby rooms.

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

Hotel has a small fridge and microwave good for snacks and lunch for the kids.

Nice staff

They were nice enough to open up a room for us at 9am on Saturday morning so we could change into our ski gear before heading to the slopes. They also let us leave our car on their parking lot until we were done skiing on Sunday (ie 5pm even though the check out was at 11). The room we got was nothing fancy but it was clean and the price was right for the ski season considering that we could walk ouselves and our gear from the room to the gondola in a heartbeat.

Good for Heavenly Gondola

This is a simple, inexpensive hotel within walking distance (even if you’re wearing ski boots!) of the Heavenly Ski Resort gondola. Nothing fancy, but perfectly adequate.

Not Bad...

I went on presidential wknd/Valentine’s day so all the hotels were booked and even the cheap hotels were expensive. I wouldn’t have paid as much as I did for it if everything wasn’t already so expensive. The tv was also small compared to the room but not a necessity I suppose. I also had to wait for room service to come by late in the afternoon. The good thing was that the room was clean, no problems with the showerhead and the hotel is within walking distance from all the shops, restaraunts and casinos!

Clean, with many amenities

We enjoyed our stay here. The room was clean and included a refrigerator, microwave and in-room coffee. We also were entitled to a complimentary continental breakfast, but didn’t take advantage of it since we wanted a full one. The location of this place, right across from Heavenly Village, and the price were an unbeatable combination. Only complaint was that the heater-a/c unit’s thermostat didn’t seem to work and had to be regulated manually.

Good Place but read...

I book for 2 rooms. My friends room had no problem but the room i got had a major problem. The main door will not lock and the room telephone was not working either (just FYI but not that i really needed the room phone). Anyway, the Hotel staff was very nice and they gave me a upgraded room with a Kitchenette. The new room had a tiny flaw too. The lights in the Kitchenette will not come on. Busted Light Bulb is my guess? Anyway, overall i like this Hotel!! Good location and friendly staff!!!

Adequate

The room was spacious and the two queen sized beds were comfortable. The location was conveniently close to the Heavenly gondola. However, bathroom facilities were shabby (though functional). It was necessary to run the noisy heater all night as not many blankets were provided. Breakfast was basic, and rather stressful as the breakfast room was far too small for a hotel of this size.

Cheap and cheerful

We stayed here while snowboarding with two children. The Hotel is more like a Motel, with all rooms doors facing the parking lot. The rooms were clean and warm with HBO, coffee maker, etc. New showerhead. The staff were VERY polite and engaging. There was a small breakfast of fruit, coffee, juices and pastries every morning. There is a pool and a Hot Tub that is open year-round. What is the best for us was that the Hotel is right across the street from the heavenly Gondola - a two-minute walk with our boards. Met our needs very well.

Poor service

Totally unacceptable hotel service. There is no plate in our room’s microwave. It is matter of a minute to fix it. But we have been asked to change the room that wasted us an hour. My kid got hurt while shifting the room. Wouldn’t recommend this hotel to someone who value their time.

Worst Experience

This place as the name says, its not a heavenly experience. When we enter in on first day, there was an awful smell inside and we got used to it. Sounds from the other room was very audible to up and disturbed the sleep always. AC was good though it gave loud noise. In bath tub, you cant take bath when any body in top floor was taking bath because, it was leaking from top floor. Not exactly leaking, its flowing ...so had to wait somebody whoever it is in top floor finish taking bath. With these experience, I won’t suggest anybody staying there when you want to have a nice time in Lake Tahoe...

Good Deal in the Shadow of Major Hotels/Casinos

I did not expect much before arrival, given the relatively low price. This little place worked out very well. The gentleman working the front counter could not have been friendlier. The room was not fancy, but it had a microwave, refrigerator, etc. I had to leave before the breakfast was served, so I cannot comment on that. The location was the best part. It took only about 10 minutes to walk to Harrahs/Harveys, and the ski lift to Heavenly was even closer. I have to return in December and have already booked my stay at this little place.

hardly slept a wink

The price was right. The motel was in a good location and clean. Had nice amenities, but minimal decor. The main problem was that the smoke alarm beeped all night--had we ear plugs we could have slept. The desk didn’t even apologize when we told them the next morning.

not clear on what you mean by tips. We attended a concert, and had a wonderful dinner at the Mont Bleu Steak House. And got to the concert there by starting time. Earlier would have been better, as you might get a better selection of seating, but there were enough seats for everyone.

Don’t

Office person was nice enough. Breakfast isn’t until 8:00, and was gone by then. The shower door was ghetto and was afraid it was going to fall in on me. Half of it didn’t even open. Nice shower head. There was enough towels, toliet paper, soap, etc, even tissue. The refrig was noisy, it kept waking me up and had to unplug. The biggest problem was the smell. Strong chemical odor. It didn’t smell like smoke or dirty, but the cleaning chemical was overwhellming. I thought I would get used to it, but when the refrigerator woke me up, (kicked on and off) the odor was revolting. I would not recomend and would not stay again... EVER!
