Not a great experience
Okay the weather was miserable and that probably didn’t help - but neither did the fact that the hotel had no umbrellas and the staff couldn’t give a toss. Overall, it just managed to be adequate, and would not be a place to return to.
Traveler's tip on nightlife
St Kilda is fun but you don’t need to stay there to be able to enjoy it - stay somewhere more central and commute - taxis are plentiful (though NOT cheap) but public transport is good.
