What a wonderful hotel, with great charm, and perfect for baseball fans visiting Wrigley! My recommendation couldn’t be more positive.

Helped make for a great Chicago vacation

The Majestic was a great affordable hotel. It is in a great location. A few blocks walk to Wrigley and 1 block from a bus stop. The bus can quickly get you downtown right to Michigan Ave. The rooms and elevator are a bit small. They did have a flat panel LCD tv in the room and continental breakfast. I would have no problem staying there again.

Get a bus pass!!! It will save you money. Otherwise be prepared to do some walking.

Great location, quiet and peaceful

Only a block from Lakeshore Drive, this hotel has a great location and yet is quiet. It’s a beautiful old building nicely furnished but also with modern amenities.

The parking fee here is half of some of the hotels downtown and is close by as well.

Our Favorite Hotel in Chicago

This is a very clean and comfortable small hotel three blocks from Wrigley Field, two blocks from a train station and 1/2 block from the lake. Standard rooms are small but very comfortable with excellent beds, bedding, towels and toiletries. There are also mini-suites and at least one very large room available. The room rate includes an expanded continental breadfast, afternoon cookies and 24-hour coffee and tea. There are very few descent hotels in this area of Chicago and this is a real find.

wonderful hotel

This was the perfect hotel for our trip. A beautiful, comfortable room equipped with everything we needed. We will definatly stay there again.

Not impressed

we requested double beds got one bed, extremely small room but clean. No help with baggage and parking several blocks away and walk to. Elevators very small. For a one day stay okay but I wouldn’t go back for the price. I have spent less on hotels in Chgo and get valet service and parking (also at a charge) but could have saved a little money and got more service. I would not recommend to others for the price.

Good hotel near Wrigley Field

The Majestic is an older building on a quiet street just off Lake Shore Drive and one block from Addison. We had a Junior Suite that was spacious and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful with getting taxis and general information. The parking garage (cost $22/night) is in a condo building behind the hotel with easy access from the hotel. Breakfast is a simple but adequate affair with bagels, cereal, hard boiled eggs, and various microwaveable items. Coffee and tea are available all day. The facility is looking a little bit worn but everything was clean and workable. We will stay there again.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

Wrigely Field is about a 15 minute stroll on a well traveled street and feels relatively safe. Downtown Chicago can be reached by the Red Line El next to Wrigley or by taxi ($10-15). Note that parking anywhere in Chicago is very pricey. As an example,the Grant Park garage under the Art Institute is $24 for an hour or for a day. Unless you really need your car, taxi or train are highly recommended and leave your car in the garage next to the hotel.

Excellent older hotel

Really enjoyed staing at the Majestic Hotel in Chicago. It’s located in a quiet neighborhood with good access to public transportation, the lake and restaurants. The hotel itself is older, charming, updated and very well kept. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable and the continental breakfast was great.

Will definitely stay here again!

My husband and I had never been to Chicago. I expected it to be just another big city. WRONG!! Not only was Chicago fabulous but the icing on the cake was staying at the Majestic. It was AWESOME!!! The staff was terrific, the room was marvelous, just can’t say how happy we were. And the short walk to Wrigley Field was wonderful!!! Thank you Majestic Staff!!!

Pleasant Hotel/ Attractive Neighborhood

The Majestic has a great location in the Lake View neighborhood near Wrigley Field, Lincoln Park, many restaurants and theaters. It is convenient to bus stops. Rooms are small but comfortable. Continental breakfast and afternoon cookies are served in a pleasant drawing room-style atmosphere. Some minor complaints: The bathroom had little counter space for toiletries; a streetlight outside the window was very bright, but drawing the drapes covered the air conditioner requiring us to awkwardly adjust the drapery around the unit at night.

Great Hotel

Would definitely stay at this hotel again if ever in the area. Great value for the price. Quiet neighborhood, yet only blocks from food and entertainment. Hotel parking was several blocks away if on street parking could not be found, but felt safe walking in the area even after dark. For an older hotel accomodations were great. Quiet rooms, comfortable beds and a well stocked bathroom. Very helpful staff always going out of their way to accomodate us.

Classic charm

The hotel is in a quiet, residential neighborhood in Lakeview, a half block from Lake Shore Drive. I used public transportation while in town. Those with a car would likely find parking inconvenient. The hotel doesn’t have an on-premise lot or garage. Parking is of the limited, on-street variety which is generally filled by by residents of the surrounding apartment buildings. There are bus stops within a 2-3 min walk, and a subway stop several blocks away at Wrigley Field. The hotel was comfortable. The afternoon snacks and continental breakfasts were good. I enjoyed the old elevator with the gate, but found it easier to walk up a flight when I wasn’t moving suitcases.

Great hotel with a great location

This was my second trip to Chicago, and this hotel was the perfect touch to the perfect city. The location is just outside the city, but only 15-20 mins by subway. Very safe neighborhood. Had a great time simply walking around and looking at the old building. The hotel itself was quite elegant, which was surprising when I first walked inside. Excellent service, great price. WILL be returning! A+

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

Don’t be afraid to stay out of the city. Save yourself a few bucks and simply buy a CTA weekend or 7 day card. They easily saved me and brother $20 a piece on travel in and out of the city, (this was only for 3 days)

Good value

Good boutique-type hotel. Warm, cozy atmosphere. We had problems with the lighting and cable TV, but the staff fixed them promptly.

We are going back in 3 months & are bringing friends.

We found the Majestic to be a small, comfy, cozy hotel. The decor is very classy. The Continental breakfast was above average. The staff at the front desk were very helpful. We have an event coming up in April and are recommending the hotel to our friends who are coming in for it.

Warm and cozy in residential setting

Return visit at a very good rate. Rooms are small, but well appointed. The beds are very comfortable. There is a good expanded Continental breakfast served in a welcoming room complete with comfy chairs and a fireplace. Close to Wrigley Field, lakeshore, and good restaurants on Broadway and Halsted, but you’ll need to take a taxi or bus to major shopping and cultural areas.

The Real Chicago

If you want to stay at a hotel in a real chicago neighborhood instead of a tourist trap this is perfect! Safe cute northside neighborhood, friendly staff, close to wrigley or catch a concert at the metro. Rooms were well decorated and comfortable. I was thrilled with the accomidations and the excemplary service.

The Majestic is majestic

This was my 3rd stay at The Majestic - and this time I left with the feeling that I could live there for several weeks. It is warm, inviting, terrific staff and my room was beautifully clean and serene. I highly recommend a ’jewel’ of an experience in staying at The Majestic.

The Majestic is located in a beautiful, serene area of Chicago, approximately a 20 minute drive (7 minute by bus express) to downtown. I could stay at the Majestic for days on end.

Great Choice

This place was beautiful and had lots amenities such as a continental breakfast every morning until 10 AM as well as coffee and cookies from 4-6 every day. The room was comfortable and very clean. I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Wrigleyville/Lincoln Park.

Pleasant Surprise

We were pleasantly surprised to find a good quality hotel in this area of Chicago. The room was quite small, but very well equipped and very comfortable with top quality linens, towels and toiletries. The contenental breakfast was more than adequate and the cookies offered with tea and coffee in the afternoon are outstanding.

Cozy, comfy

The hotel room was quite small but perfect for one person for one night. The bed was comfy. I had my wallet stolen on the train that day--no $, no id, no credit card, but my stay was already charged to Expedia. I came straight to my room and stayed in there. Felt safe. Great reading room downstairs but not much lighting. Nice breakfast spread. It did cost $20 for taxis to downtown one way.
