good service but fan noise
Most hotels in this price range need to do something about the AC / Heater in the room. Most of us are used to sleeping in a quiet beadroom and can’t sleep with a loud fan cranking away next to the bed.

Nice and quiet
This was a nice hotel. Small room but comfortable. I liked having the microwave and small refrigerator in the room, they came in handy. Friendly staff and easy to find location.
Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay
Having the microwave and refrigerator in the room let me store my leftover pizza from dinner and reheat the next night. That saved me money.

It was OK
but just "OK." a convenient location, though during my stay there seemed to be mostly truckers and workmen staying there. the continental breakfast was OK and included a make-to-order waffle iron for the guests’ use. when we arrived, the pool had hair floating in it and did not seem warm enough to be considered "heated". there was a dirty towel behind the bathroom door and a used coffee grounds packet in the coffee maker when we arrived. we had a room overlooking the pool but the view (which should be a nice one of the mountains) was almost entirely obscured by trees. and you really need the blackout curtains at night because of a very bright light on the back parking lot. it was OK for a room, but don’t expect much more.

DO eat at Hart’s Turkey Farm and Restaurant on route 3 in Meredith... large portions, great turkey, wide variety on the menu, friendly wait staff. DO NOT eat at the Common Man in Ashland. chicken ceasar salad arrived swimming in ceasar dressing and was inedible. baked stuffed shrimp arrived dried out with bread stuffing that came from a box. DO try to go Kayaking in North Conway on the Saco River. I have used Northern Extremes to rent kayaks from and they always are helpful and friendly.
