It smelled of mold
I cant believe this hotel was advertised as a 4 star hotel. It was dark dreary, and smelled terribly. There was no concierge and no one helped us with our plans, luggage etc. I would never recomend this hotel.

Great stay, convenient location. Recommend.
We traveled Italy by train (Rome-Florence-Venice-Milan) and this was the perfect hotel for our needs. It is a few hundred yards from the train station, right off the Grand Canal. Very convenient, especially if arriving by train and dont want to drag all of your bags through the city or on the public transport boats. The complimentary breakfast is great; its not just the continental breakfast at most European hotels. It is a full breakfast buffet, and a self serve coffee/cappuccino machine. Nice. It may be a bit noisy at night if you get a room over the street below, but that is the nature of the beast. Also, the Irish pub about 100 feet to the east of the front door is mighty convenient to rest your feet and grab a pint after a long day of walking the city. Definitely recommend this hotel.

What you see is not what you get
Hi, The hotel is clean and they provide a decent breakfast, which is fine. However, the photos that you see is not indicative of what you get. The rooms are old and shabby - but clean - and the room we got had no view! Our room was overlooking rooftops of other buildings and windows of the apartments across the alley! Very disappointing. You dont feel you are in Venice at all. For the price, I believe you should be able to get better or at least more modern.
Traveler's tip
When you first get to Venice, it might be frustrating understanding which Water Bus to catch and how to reach your hotel, especially if you have the cross the many bridges to get there. Try to get during the day, since at night, its very hard to find someone to guide/help you out. Its very surprising for such a touristic place, but the locals view it as a 9-5 Job.
