Good overnight hotel
We were on our way home (California) from Banff, Alberta. Kamloops was a stopover that worked fine for us. We even found a decent sushi restaurant.

Upgrade a must!
Our original room was a traditional room with two queen beds on the first floor. We had to move because it was it was very, very noisy - we could hear through the walls normal conversations as well as the room next door’s exhaust fan! Once we upgraded to the deluxe, it was much quieter. Hotel is great for downtown restaurants and entertainment. Hotel has outdated decor - but they are trying.

Hotel on the main downtown st in Kamloops.Street gets pretty seedy towards the restaurants they recommend.Would ask them for dining advice away from main street.Hotel clean and adequate and would stay there again

STORM is a restaurant on the river not far away which is much nicer than anything we saw on the main street

This is a quality hotel
I am a frequent business traveler. I spent two separate leisure nights in this hotel (one when I was driving from Vancouver to Banff and another night on my way back). Cleanliness of the room and the comfort of the bed are the first 2 key things I look at. This hotel did meet my basic requirement and I do recommend it for other travelers as well.

friendly staff
the windows don’t open and it was hard to get the fan to work. When we finally did, it just moved the room air around. No way to get fresh air into the room. Staff was friendly and competent. the bed was comfortable. Bathroom was clean.
Traveler's tip on dining
The Dorian Greek House restaurant at 430 Victoria St. was Wonderful. Terrific food, professional and friendly wait staff. Also served Italian food. For great jazz bar, go to the Commodore, farther west on Victoria St. Good food, good microbrew.

Clean with nice people
This hotel was ok for the price and our one night stay.It’s older and dated but clean and the people were very nice. Great for the price compared to others with higher prices.

Nice Stopover
the hotel is nice and clean. about 5-7 minute walk to nearby shops and restaurants however there is a nice restaurant and a coffee place a block from the hotel. Also a casino is just a block away. We stayed at kamloops to break our journey from vancouver to banff.

Perfect Stay
We (Dutch people) had a perfect stay over there. The personel helped us very well in the middle of the night when we hed to change our rental car because we had problems with that car.

Adequate
Hotel is older with some updating. The bed was firm. It was also quiet and the staff was very friendly. Not a "wow" experience, but definitely a decent place and a good buy.
Traveler's tip on recreational activities
We were told to skip the train which wasn’t open anyway. We went to the nearby animal wildlife center and were not disappointed. I got to see wolves, cougars, bears, birds of prey (Harris Hawk, etc), a very large tortoise, and a baby opossum. My husband was impressed with the badger and the owls. I loved seeing the animals up close, even if it was like being in a zoo environment. It was small and and cozy and the animals were easy to see.
