great hotel by the airport

this is a very nice hotel close to the airport. People were genuinely nice and tried to help whenever necessary. The room was comfortable and clean. Expedia should take note and mention the costs to overnight valet your car. The room rate was exceptional for this hotel through Expedia. The valet parking rate $28 a night I think is a little high. All in all I would not hesitate in going back know what I hesitate in recommending this hotel. The area again is mostly offices with a few scattered restaurants. This is a hotel where you do need a car to get around.

Airport Noise

The stay was very nice and they staff was as well. The only thing is that it is close to John Wayne Airport so if you are relaxing by the pool, you hear all the planes going in and out, and there are a lot of them.

Fairmont Newport Beach - Fabulous - The place to stay in New Port Beach

My 4 day stay at the Fairmont Newport Beach was absolutely fabulous. The hotel is well managed, very clean, the grounds well kept, the resturant was 1st class in my opinion. I felt safe and really enjoyed my very comfortable stay. The only exception I had was the cost of parking. I thought $28.00 a day parking rate was very expensive and I didn’t appreciate the surprise. Without question, I’d return to the Fairmont Newport Beach when I visit again and I’ll save money for parking too :) Thanks Expedia for offering me this fabulous hotel. I had a fabulous time. You folks rock!

A fine place to stay

All was fine, just be prepared for the $28.00 per night valet parking fee and a $6.00 per hour fee for visitors of hotel guests.

Great Hotel

We had a junior suite and it was gorgeous. Huge soaker tub (big enough for two). Very quiet hotel, extremely comfortable beds.

Liked the hotel. good amenities, including good exercise room. Sorely missed in-room bar with drinks.

Wall are paper thin.

Suttle service from the airport is very slow. Very noisy, was up most of the night do to the party in the next room.

Best Kept Secret

Hotel was absolutely beautiful and cozy, Bed was soooo comfortable. Staff were extra nice and personable. Will definately be back!

Staff was very plesant. I didn’t like that fact that they did not have parking available in general parking for my F350 truck. i was forced to use valet at $28.00 daily, which totally defeated the savings for picking this hotel

A pleasant stay.

The hotel is well maintain. Room was comfortable. The service staffs were attentive and very friendly. The best place for the children: roof top pool. The location alos make it a convenient place for business trip. I would consider it for the next trip.

A lot of room to improve

This is a nice property in a nice location. The staff left a lot of room for improvment. Maybe it will get better with time.

Very Nice

I had been in California on business, my husband was flying in to meet and we wanted a hotel near the airport. You can’t get much closer to the airport and the hotel was great. Rooms clean and comfy, room service reasonably priced and the food was good. We will stay here again.

The hotel was excellent! However, watch out for the hidden fees: $28 per day REQUIRED valet parking and $14 per day Internet fee.

Beware ’compulsory’ Valet Parking

The hotel, the service, the room, the food - were all excellent. I thought that the rate that I got through Expedia was also excellent ... until I found out that there is ONLY valet parking at the hotel at $28 per night (plus what you have to tip the valet every time he gets your car for you).

Great Hotel...top notch...but regular price would be too stiff for me...thanks Expedia for a deal...for the first time, I felt I got a fantastic deal out of Expedia and I use Expedia a lot....it’s genuine 5 star hotel as it should be. In today’s liberal review world, I would give it a 6 star...boutique quality, but fairly sizable. Loved it!!!

A bit too snooty for me

The bargain price threw me off -- this was a hotel for people who don’t mind paying $28/day for valet parking and $13/day for internet. My room was not ready at 4:00 or at 5:00 so since I had a 6:00 dinner date they put me in an executive suite which was luxurious but only had one bed -- my wife and I are more comfortable in separate beds (we are old). I’m sure many travelers would love this hotel but I was not right for me.

Loved this hotel!

Beautiful hotel with plenty of amenities and a staff eager to help. Only problem, the tv reception was horrible and they were unable to fix it during our stay. The picture and sound kept scrabling every few minutes.
