Great for the price

Arrived by train at Penn Station and it was a short walk to the hotel. We were early but our room was ready and check in was extremely easy. It was a bit of a walk to Times Square but it helped work off the food consumed in the many Irish Pubs we visited-almost always a place for a good economical meal. As stated in previous reviews the bathroom was very small but bearable as the bedroom/siting area and kitchenette were quite roomy. The noise from the street was a little annoying but all in all the room was great for the price.

The 2 day City tour hop on hop off package was a good deal. It also included a night tour and a 2 hour Harbor Cruise and several free musuem passes.

Great Hotel by all measurements!

Great location near subway system also within walking distance of Times Square,Empire State Building.

too noisy

While the staff was wonderful and the convenience of a full kitchen was perfect, the noise from the room next door kept me awake all night. The thing is, they were talking at a conversational level. The problem was the room air conditioner which provided NO BARRIER to the sounds from the adjoining room! The couple must have been in their bed talking (all night!) and the sound floated through their air conditioning unit to ours. It sounded like they were outside of our window.

Too noisy

The location of the hotel is convenient because close to Penn Station however it was really noisy during the night.

Affinia Manhattan - Best Value and Service

Soon I will be staying at the Affinia Manhattan for the third time in as many months. The hotel is wonderful and so are all of the employees.

Affinia was Awesome

Would recommend this hotel highly. We stayed in one bedroom suite, and the bedroom blocked out most of the street noise. Convenient to many tourist sites by subway and within walking distance.

Great New York Find

We recently stayed here for one night and loved it. It’s extremely convenient to Penn Station (practically across the street) and we were able to store our bags there after we checked out before we needed to catch our train. The room was very nice and spacious and even had a full kitchen.

Bring earplugs if street noise bothers you while trying to sleep.

Best Location

Great location but can be loud at night, lots of sirens. I slept with earplugs but my husband didn’t need them. Great room with a kitchen and two full bathrooms.

Traveler's tip on shopping

Make sure you bargain with people selling purses, shirts, ect. on the streets, they will go down in price, some as much as 50%.

AFFINIA HOTEL MANHATTAN

Our stay in the hotel was perfect, the rooms very comfortable and clean. The people in the register counter was so nice.

Delightful stay!

We really enjoyed the Affinia’s excellent location, comfy beds, and friendly staff. The kitchenette was a great plus! I’ve already recommended it to friends who will be going to NYC next year and taking their family. With so much to choose from, I won’t hesitate to stay at the Affinia again.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

My 21 year-old is constantly hungry, so street food proved highly convenient. He recommends the Halal stands and especially the rice and chicken. He said it’s the best he had during our stay! By the way he devoured it, I would agree.

good location. Room was a little bigger than others. Kitchette was a nice plus. One negative was that bathroom was quite small. good overall quality for the price.

Great Hotel w/Convenient Location

Hotel conveniently located. Hotel staff very accommodating. Front desk friendly and helpful. Carpets and bed skirts could have been cleaner. Would recommend and stay again!

Mustang Harry’s about a block from hotel had good food, reasonable prices and generous portions. Lunch specials!

Wow! What a Great Place.

I really enjoyed this hotel even though it was in a busy part of town, it was close to everything.

Everything was excellent except one small thing

The hotel was beautiful - comfortable - excellent location - staff was friendly and very helpful. The room was wonderful - except one small thing. That small thing was the bathroom. The bathroom was very tiny - barely enough room to turn around in. Everything else about everything to do with the hotel was beyond exceptional for us - but the bathroom was uncomfortable.

Good but a bit noisy

Quite a pleasant place to stay however the fire station next door makes a bit of noise during day hours. (At night they are not much of disturbance)

Nice place to stay when you are in NYC, confortable, especial attention from the people who work in the hotel, the Clark on reception and the concierge guys. Recomeded to everybody who likes to stay in confort

Very close to madison sq garden and few blocks from times sq. Great shopping nearby. Like most new york hotels very small bathrooms esp the shower, although overall not bad.

long New York weekend

For the money, comfort, and location this is the best hotel we have ever stayed in. Great room, full kitchen, centrally located across street from Madison Square Garden. Front desk and Concierge extremely helpful. I could not ask for more. Got a great rate from Expedia. The bathroom could have been bigger but that is the only possible fault I could find

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

Fly in to JFK and take the AirTrain to the subway terminal. Buy a 7 day pass for Subway and ride verywhere. Airtrain is $5

Great bargin on suites!

The hotel is older and shows it but it is not that much different from going to other older facilities Grand Hotel on Mackinaw Island, which is first class in every way but still shows is its age. Our suite was roomy and very comfortable. The location was great; easy access to subways. Full kitchen also made our stay cheaper. Starbucks is directly across the street from the hotel and the prices there were cheaper than they are at a Michigan Starbucks. We will be back.

Cheap suites, ours had two baths, great for teenagers on a trip to New York.

Great and safe location. I will go back

The service was great. The room was clean. This is just nearby the Madison Square Garden and the Penn Station. The room had a full kitchen which is nice because in NYC, except fast food, everything is expensive and for a family sometime it is better to eat breakfast in the room.

Hotel with a good Service

This is an old building, but a nice hotel. The concierge service was excellent. They are very helpful with all the info you need and have tickets to events. We got a suite which had a queen size bed, large living room with a sofa bed, and a good size kitchen. Room service was very good. The hotel is in a good location: 1/2 block away from the Penn station, few blocks from Empire State, Time Sq, and lots of shops around.

I would stay at Affinia Manhatten again.

The staff were very friendly with the exception of one particular concierge and it wasnt that she was unfriendly she just didn’t offer much information. I had to keep asking and she would only answer what I asked. I felt like she didn’t want to be bothered and seems like it was always the same concierge when I would go up to counter.

If you really want to go to top of Empire State Bldg it is worth it to pay the extra price for the Express ticket.

great location

The location was handy, right across from Penn Station. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The bathroom was VERY small, appx 8x4. The room was clean but the carpet was ready for replacement.We were on the 6th floor and it was noisy until 1 or 2 o’clock am. Sent two emails to the manager and got no response.
