Good location

I stayed at the hotel twice with two nights elsewhere in between. The first night I arrived late due to a late flight and was still able to have dinner and wine at the bar. I was tired from travelling and was happy not to have to go out again. Overall the personnel at the reception were helpful, courteous and professional. One person was, on one occasion, unnecessarily curt. I was a bit put off at my second stay by the construction to the front entrance, which necessitated a circuitous route through the bar. The rooms were adequate but not luxurious. The hotel is centrally located which made shopping, sightseeing, etc. easily accessible by foot.

Traveler's tip on recreational activities

The red coat guided walking tours of Exeter are conducted by local volunteers, free of charge, and are excellent. Meet by the sign near the cathedral. Ask the hotel concierge for times and tour topics.
