good location, good service, next to shopping mall

Not impressed

Pretty disappointed that the hotel does not offer free internet. I would think that that is standard in this day and age. Also the toilet gets clogged easily. Entrance to the hotel is relatively obscure, some cab drivers were unsure how to get to it. Otherwise location is good and part of a shopping mall so it is easy to find strong coffee and food.

Cant wait to go back

My Royal Plaza stay was great and on our next visit to Hong Kong We will definately stay there again and again. The service was top notch, everyone who works there was very friendly and helpful, security was great (you must have a room key to get into the elevator (lift). The room had a great view of the city and the buffets were very good, the gym and pool were top notch. You are within walking distance to woman and flower street shopping not to mention the mall and public transportation is just outside the hotel. I give it a 5+ star rating.

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

You can walk to the street vendors on woman street and get good deals on clothing and alterations are done right on the spot at no charge (in most places). I pd. $8 USD for pants. dine outside in the mall good food and inexpesive.

Hong Kong Travel

I would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone travelling to Hong Kong for the first time. The service is definitely five-stars. The rooms are clean, modern, and spacious. The hotel is within walking distance of a MTR station, a shopping center, and great places to eat. I’ve traveled to Hong Kong many times but it’s the first time that I had to stay at a hotel, so a definite thumbs-up for the Royal Plaza.

good value for money

Royal Plaza hotel has very good location and is close to shopping areas like night bazar, ladies market and so on. We were upgraded to deluxe room which was ok, that’s why I wouldn’t recommend to stay in room of the lower standard. Very nice swimming pool, good breakfasts.

Excellent hotel in Hong Kong Kowloon

This was an excellent hotel that we stayed at that I would definitely recommend and plan on staying at the next time I’m in Hong Kong. After we checked in, we were offered an upgrade to the executive level which I thought was an excellent deal and would highly recommend because it includes a fabulous breakfast buffet, afternoon tea and evening cocktails. They always had a nice spread of small food items which we took advantage of. As a result, we saved money by not having to buy meals outside of what we ate at the executive lounge. The executive level has bigger rooms and you are also at the top two floors of the hotel which gives you a nice view of the surrounding area. The upgrade also included free high speed internet use which was also important to me. The hotel staff were all very friendly and I would definitely recommend this hotel to all my friends and colleagues.

Traveler's tip on shopping

Go to the evening market which is only about three blocks away from the hotel. You might need to get directions from the hotel staff but you will find excellent deals on just about anything plus you can usually bargain with the vendors.

Hotel was a great find in a more "local" neighborhood. Connected to a great mall. Very convenient to get around.

Nice Hotel, rooms larger than most in Hong Kong. Good for travel by train to LoWu, a bit of a walk to subway though.

Hong Kong First Trip

My first time in Hong Kong and i am very glad that i choose this Hotel. It was close to lots of attraction. The hotel staff if very friendly and nice.

Will definitely stay there again!!

Just want to mention the thoughtfulness of the housekeeping staff . One night I have to double up the blanket on my daughter’s rollaway bed because she complained that she is cold!! The next day an extra blanket appears.

All staff are so nice and helpful. If I back to Hong Kong again, this hotel will be my first choice.

Good quality and reasonably priced.

A good quality hotel that is much less expensive than similar hotels downtown. It is attached to a mall, which has plenty of good restaurants (at more reasonable prices than the hotel restaurants). One negative - the hotel and mall sit atop Mongkok East train station, and in my room at least (on the 15th floor) the trains could not only be heard but felt! The structure of the hotel trembled and a low rumble could be heard. This would be disruptive for someone who is a light sleeper.

The free shuttle to the Kowloon station of the Airport Express train stops at the front door of the hotel every 24 mins or so.

Will definitely go back this summer

Very convenient , lot of shops and restaurant Good internet connection but would like to have a discounted rate next time when stay is over several days .

Good Hotel but Pillows need improvement

The pillow is very uncomfortable. The cotton inside the pillow is not enough. As soon as you sleep for a while, the fluffy pillow become very flat. The pillow also make our neck hurt after sleeping. Pillow need to be change. The good sides are that the hotel is very clean and the staffs are friendly. The location of the hotel is great. It is very convenient to go shopping, eating, and taking transportation.

Well Worth it!

Clean and well maintained. Convenient location and lots of local eateries to choose in the shopping mall which is connected to hotel. The gym and pool are a good place for exercise. Reasonable price, well worth it!

Good hotel in a great location

I love this hotel because it is a 5 star hotel in everyway. Only because the location is in the most populated area in Hong Kong, so it is not getting the rave. However, this hotel is convenient to everything. A big shopping mall right next to the hotel and everything you need in the nearby area. I’ve been staying in this hotel everytime I travel to Hong Kong for over 8 years already. I would certainly recommend it to anyone.

Convenient and First Class

Our two week stay at the Royal Plaza was very enjoyable. The service and courtesy shown by all the staff from the moment we entered the front door to the day we left was excellent. The hotel’s situation on top of a modern shopping mall and the subway station made it very easy to get around Hong Kong. The hotel’s train/subway station is one of the stops on the line train that goes to Shenzhen China. You can go straight from your hotel room right into China without having to take a step outside. In fact you can go to pretty much any place in Hong Kong right from the hotel because the transit system is so well designed. Don’t miss the daily lunch and dinner buffet at the hotel. Quality and variety is excellent. Shopping in the street markets around Mong Kok is just a few minutes walk from the hotel. Take the pedestrian only Skywalk to the markets and restaurants that is attached to the shopping mall and go over all the traffic below on the streets. In the morning workout in the well-equipped gym and swim in the luxurious roman-inspired lap pool then head for the steam/sauna rooms located in the gym. Classical music is piped into the water for a more relaxing experience. Water was 27C and air was 22C. The outdoor pool is on the 8th floor of the hotel so you’re insulated from all the noise at street level. Great place to stay and we will definitely be back again soon.

Very nice hotel in good location

I’ve stayed at the Royal Plaza three times now on trips to Hong Kong and Shenzhen. Every time I have been extremely satisfied with the hotel. It’s very clean; room was quiet and nicely furnished; staff was courteous; I had no problems at all with TV, thermostat, Internet, etc. Another thing- I like to exercise on trips, and the gym at the Royal Plaza was fine. They have a nice outdoor pool and jacuzzi, and the indoor fitness equipment was good (though not great). I find the Royal Plaza to be particularly good when I transit to or from Shenzhen because of its proximity to the train station.

The shopping mall to which the hotel is connected is large and nice. The hotel is just above the train stop on way to Shenzhen, though the walk through the mall takes some time. Also the hotel is near the subway, but not right next to it- about a 10 minute walk I would guess.

Good place to stay.

The room was clean and comfortable. The location above the subway station was very convenient. The buffet breakfast was unacceptably expensive compared to local restaurants (although the quality of the food was good) and restaurant service was slow. Only one power outlet was available in the room. Not enough to run the computer, charge cell phones and cameras all at the same time.

Location, Location

The Hotel was a pleasant surprise. If you want to see Hong Kong as a local this is it. If you are travelling from here to the New Teritories this hotel is well situatted for publivc transit (trains)

A day trip to Lo Hu (Shenzen) is full of shopping opportunities and adventure. Enjoy a drink at the Shangrila, enjoy your shopping but be cautious.

great location for shopping

Hotel is connected to a mall. Train station is also connected. Open vendor shopping approx. 4-8 blks away "ladies market" for souvenirs, silks, purses, etc. Definitely bargain 30 -50%. Electronic stores are nearby as well as local restaurants. Hotel staff speaks ok english, not alot of westerners at this hotel. Upgraded us to suite, room was beautiful. Restaurant on third floor was very nice.

Heard the Peak restaurant was nice. Did not get there, unfortunately only had 22 hours in town, but would love to go back.
