Good for a short trip for a young person!
Stairs, Stairs, Stairs... Allot yourself an extra workout on these stairs! I’m 26 and athletic but lugging a suitcase up what seems like stairs to heaven isnt my cup of tea. The rooms are small and I mean small as for cleanleness I have seen cleaner dorms, however for the price and the comfort of having a water closet and no dorm style arrangements it "worked"

Ask at the front desk to take your bags to your room, it will save you what seems the impossible! GREAT GREAT location to local attractions, 5 minutes by foot to dam square, national mounument, ann frank house and shopping!

Reasonable Hotel for Amsterdam Site Seeing
This is a hotel designed for people who just need a room to sleep and bathe. It’s not that it is unpleasant, it’s just very utilitarian and not as comfortable or posh as most higher priced hotels. The location is close walking distance to Dam Square, which makes for a great jumping off point for exploring the city. My room was very small, but clean and warm. Bed was comfortable enough. The noise wasn’t too bad at night, but bit noisy in the morning next to Raadhuisstraat with the trams and trucks driving past. If you are elderly, disabled, hobbled by a recent leg injury, or physically out of shape you should NOT stay here. The staircase just to get to the lobby is epically steep, narrow and tall. Not unusual for small hotels in the area, but seriously it’s not for anyone who’s not in decent physical shape.
