Fantastic Location, really friendly and helpful staff
Great location - we were easily able to walk to the city centre or the Leidesplein in less than 15 minutes. The Canal Belt is a gorgeous part of the city, the hotel is right near the Negenstraats, which was our favorite shopping district in Amsterdam. Riding bikes on the canals was great fun, you get a great view of the city and the hotels location made this easy and convenient to do. The staff was extremely friendly, helping us make calls, chatting with us about local customs and trends, and offering tips on places to go. The breakfast was simple, but satisfying and the breakfast room has a fantastic view of the Keizersgracht and the Westerkerk. The rooms were very clean and well-tended - we asked for a quiet room and werent bothered at all by noise that Ive heard some people mention. The bed was comfortable and it had the basic amenities youd expect (e.g. tv, small fridge) Only caveats - steep and plentiful stairs (which didnt bother us much, but older or more physically limited guests should take it into consideration) - Rooms were small (worth it for location and price, in our opinion, but the edge of the toilet is about a foot away from the door, theres little room to maneuver in the room itself ) Id gladly recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to stay in a cozy and friendly hotel in a great part of town. Im sure there are more modern and spacious hotels around, but I doubt theyd have the charm of this place.

Lovely Hotel in a Great Location!
We were only in Amsterdam for one night, but I couldve stayed here longer! The staff was so friendly and even upgraded our room to include a balcony overlooking the church and Anne Franks House! We had such a great experience and would recommend this hotel to anyone going to Amsterdam.

Small and noisy, but close to the sights
This room was the smallest hotel room Ive ever stayed in, and its easy to hear other people coming up the stairs or arguing in their room. However, it is very close to the central train station, Red Light District, and other sights. The stairs are very steep and narrow, so avoid this hotel if you have problems with your legs. Overall, not bad but not great.
