Fantastic Location, really friendly and helpful staff
Great location - we were easily able to walk to the city centre or the Leidesplein in less than 15 minutes. The Canal Belt is a gorgeous part of the city, the hotel is right near the Negenstraats, which was our favorite shopping district in Amsterdam. Riding bikes on the canals was great fun, you get a great view of the city and the hotels location made this easy and convenient to do. The staff was extremely friendly, helping us make calls, chatting with us about local customs and trends, and offering tips on places to go. The breakfast was simple, but satisfying and the breakfast room has a fantastic view of the Keizersgracht and the Westerkerk. The rooms were very clean and well-tended - we asked for a quiet room and werent bothered at all by noise that Ive heard some people mention. The bed was comfortable and it had the basic amenities youd expect (e.g. tv, small fridge) Only caveats - steep and plentiful stairs (which didnt bother us much, but older or more physically limited guests should take it into consideration) - Rooms were small (worth it for location and price, in our opinion, but the edge of the toilet is about a foot away from the door, theres little room to maneuver in the room itself ) Id gladly recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to stay in a cozy and friendly hotel in a great part of town. Im sure there are more modern and spacious hotels around, but I doubt theyd have the charm of this place.

Lovely Hotel in a Great Location!
We were only in Amsterdam for one night, but I couldve stayed here longer! The staff was so friendly and even upgraded our room to include a balcony overlooking the church and Anne Franks House! We had such a great experience and would recommend this hotel to anyone going to Amsterdam.

Small and noisy, but close to the sights
This room was the smallest hotel room Ive ever stayed in, and its easy to hear other people coming up the stairs or arguing in their room. However, it is very close to the central train station, Red Light District, and other sights. The stairs are very steep and narrow, so avoid this hotel if you have problems with your legs. Overall, not bad but not great.

Overall service and hospitality is second to none
Cant say enough about our stay. Staff was super polite from the bellhop to management and everybody in between. Very curtious and understanding of ignorant tourist like myself. Helped in every way possible and necessary. Hands down no question will stay here again.

Friendly staff!
My husband and I went there for my birthday. I was really sick at 10 am when we arrived. We asked the staff member at the front desk if we can check in early, not only did she arrange for us to check in, they upgraded us and places flowers in our room for my birthday. Wonderful people, and breakfast room is really beautiful. Also the location in ideal. Walking distance to Anne Franks house and other attractions.

Good BUDGET Hotel
This is a Budget Hotel that is Centrally located, with nearby Tram Stops and a great staff. The steps at the entrance are very steep (I got a great workout!), but have a sturdy handrail and the staff will carry your bags to your room. I do not recommend it for families, older people, or honeymooning couples.
Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay
Go to the local store & purchase a Strip Card for use on Buses, Trams & Trains.

Only 1 night, but Id go back again!
Having visited a friend in the eastern part of the Netherlands, we came into Amsterdam to spend a Friday, and overnighted at the Nadia Hotel so as to be closer to the airport on Saturday morning. I knew about the long staircase, but there are handrails on each wall. You ring the buzzer outside to be let in, and someone comes right down to carry your suitcase for you. All 3 people we dealt with in reception were very friendly and helpful. The continental breakfast was very tasty and you could have as much as you wanted. We had a standard room (#4) on the 1st floor with a view of the canal & the church. It was compact but comfortable. The bathroom was a decent size and the water pressure in the shower was fantastic!! It was like having a nice massage after a long day of walking around the city! You could hear the trolley from down below, and the church bells chiming, but that didnt really bother us. We traded a bit of noise for a lovely view. The airport shuttle bus that was arranged for us was right on time the next morning. I hope to return some day for a longer visit.

Not what I expected
I decided to stay in this hotel based on some of the good reviews I read, but unfortunately, I do not agree with them. The hotel was not what I expected. However there was some positive points, I must say that the staff was very friendly and courteous and the hotel location was central. I personally didnt think the hotel was that close to Central Station (it is a brisk 20 minute walk) and the stairs are kind of scary and steep. The room smelled bad and the bathroom is the smallest one I have ever seen. Breakfast was not much basically coffee, croissant and bread. I personally would not recommend this hotel for the business traveler nor families. This hotel seems more for the young carefree traveler who is not looking for much in a hotel.

Too loud
I had requested a non-smoking room because I am allergic to smoke, I had booked my room weeks in advance. When we checked in the hotel was full so they werent sure they could give me a non-smoking room, which they didnt. They did give me a bigger room than I had booked. The only problem with the room is it faced the main street and was only one floor up from the ground. It was incredibly noisy and we got no sleep. Also, everytime a guest wants to come into the hotel they have to ring a buzzer to be let in, and then climb the many stairs. We heard it all. When I complained in the morning I was basically told, "oh well, you got a bigger room than you booked."

Never Again
If the stairs dont scare you on the way up to the lobby, the room definitly will. I needed to wrap a shirt around my pillow just to put my head on it to sleep. the sheets were torn and my foot kept getting caught in the tear. You needed to sit sideways on the toilet, as the door hit the toilet seat when it was shut. The towels were crunchy. It was pretty awful.

two star hotel with five star service
The location of the hotel is excellent, walking distace to almost everything, a bit of a walk to the Rijksmuseum area though, but we didnt mind. Extremely helpful, friendly staff. Our room was small and pretty basic, but it was quiet, had a fridge, fan (no a/c), tv, safe, coffee/tea set. Breakfast was quite minimal, but the tiny breakfast room was very cozy and with a beautiful view. We didnt spend much time in our room, so we are overall pleased. When we needed to wake up very early for our flight, there were two automatic phone calls followed by a receptionist calling to be sure were up. Genuinely friendly helpfull people.
Traveler's tip
The entrance door is locked and you need to have the staff buzz you in, then it opens to a very steep flight of stairs, theres no elevator so it may be a problem for some older folks.

Excellant Hotel for Little Money
This place was great. My wife and I stayed here for one night on a lay-over and wished we could have stayed for many more nights. The management was very friendly and very helpful. The breakfast was wonderful and the location was excellant. I agree with the other reviews that the stairs were steep but this was a small price to pay for such good accomadations for a very fair price. We would stay here again without question.

will stay there next time!!
If you have traveled in europe then you know how hotels are over there. The staff is out standing there all family so they work good together. Every thing i needed or asked for was done greatly. If you are a lazy person then you should think of another hotel, cause there are 37 steps up to the hotel. Over all I would have to say that every step was worth the stay!
