What to expect: Located within 10 miles of numerous Silicon Valley companies, the Mediterranean-style Wild Palms Hotel is five miles from Paramount’s Great America. The grounds are attractively landscaped with tropical foliage, and the hotel features bright, island-inspired mosaics and murals. This two-story boutique hotel has exterior corridors and no elevators.
Amenity highlights: A main courtyard houses a large patio with splash pool, spa tub, and poolside cabanas. A secluded second courtyard toward the back of the hotel makes a nice picnic spot. Complimentary wireless Internet access is available throughout the hotel, including the pool area. Complimentary Continental breakfast is served each morning.
Insider tip: Murphy Avenue, two miles from the hotel, is known for its selection of Irish bars. Every day is St. Patrick’s Day and Guinness is the brew of choice.
