Conveniently located reasonably comfortable hotel
For the most part, this met my expectations for a hotel in the Ramada chain. I was a little surprised that the rooms had no AC, given how warm it can get in the summer. And right next door there was some noisy construction going on during the daytime. But apart from that, everything was fine, and the location was excellent. Its part of one of Birminghams main shopping mails, so you are just feet away from a great selection of restaurants, bars, and convenience shops. This does tend to make it noisy in the evenings, however, especially on weekends, and can be annoying if you have to leave the window open because of the lack of AC. Also the hotel has no parking privileges in the shopping mail, so expect to pay 18+ pounds per day in addition to your hotel bill.
Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay
Try to get a room on the canal side of the hotel, as the view is very nice.
