4 is Underrated
I was just there a couple weeks ago and was very very impressed. This place was highly recommended by Expedia travellers. The almost perfect rating coupled with reasonable daily rate are my main reasons why I selected the place. I loved the free shuttle rides back and forth the airport; every 30 minutes. The train station to the City was literally just steps away to the right outside the lobby; train ride was about 20 minutes and came every 15 mins. Interent wireless was FAST and FREE. The service was GREAT; the frontdesk folks were very accomodating. The place was CLEAN. The bed and beddings were very comfortable. The bathroom was huge. I love Piet Mondrian and the hotel color palette and design are based on his artwork. The hotel was well equipped with basic needs like blowdryers, power adapters, etc. A grocery store was just a block away. The only downside was breakfast; it was a little pricey (12 to 18 USD) but you get what you pay for. Overall I think the hotel is underrated and should show a rating of a perfect 5, not 4. Since I got back to the US, I’d been spreading the word to friends and family that Hotel Allegra is the place to be when in Zurich. Next time I’m there, I will definitely go back to this hotel.

Good value
Very contemporary styled decor. Not my preference, but the room was comfortable. Close walking distance to town for restaurants and shopping.
Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks
restaurants are generally quite expensive. The restaurant in the local Migros store offers very good and more reasobably priced meals. Five minutes walk from the hotel.

Very convinent to the airport and railway travel
Having basketfull apples on front desk is very nice touch. Especially when you arrive in late evening (hungry and tired)
