all is closer on foot: shopping, dining, nightlife, museum etc. You can stay you car in the garage.

We only stayed overnight the day that I arrived on the island and the last day before I left... Both times the room was clean and beautiful...the staff was friendly and courtious ... room service was prompt and the food was delicious with generous portions..... I can assure you that I will NOT be staying anyway else when I come back to Victoria...

Can’t wait to go back

Service was very good and hotel location in comparison to Ferry is excellent. Their prime restaurant was a major embrassment:the wait staff was arrogrant and rude. Would never recommend it.

Convenient location, friendly staff, good rooms

Hotel is conveniently located on Victoria’s waterfront, right next to the Parliament Building. Easy walking distance to the BC Museum, downtown, and the U.S. ferry terminals. Staff was very friendly and made me feel welcomed. Rooms are quiet and comfortable. I would definitely consider using again on my next trip to Victoria.

Wonderful Hotel

Excellent service from all the staff! Close to restaurants and tourist attractions. Excellent restaurant to try is Nautical Nellies. Concierge was a real help. Would stay there again.

Lovely hotel, but little daylight in bedroom

My husband and I were very satisfied with the Hotel Grand Pacific during our 3 day stay in early September 2009. Our only complaint was that we had reserved a Grand Suite which turned out to have no window in the bedroom. The sitting room had a window and doorway out to a small balcony and the light from that had to suffice for the bedroom. I wouldn’t have minded that except that it was not mentioned during the reservation process so it seemed deceptive to me. However, the view from the one window we had was a lovely one of the harbor.

Loved This Hotel

This is a beautiful, comfortable hotel with an incredibly helpful, friendly staff. The concierge, David, was wonderful. He gave us so many great tips on things to do and restaurants. The Mark Restaurant in the hotel has excellent but the service needs a bit of improving. Also, the hotel provides a free car service at night on a first come basis. This was terrific. The view from our room was of the harbor and was lovely. Also, you can easily walk to almost anywhere in town from this hotel. The Victoria Clipper ferry to/from Seattle is a very short walk from this hotel. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Great location, great value

The Grand Pacific is a very nice hotel overlooking the bay. The hotel is in a great location and in walking distance of all the shopping and restaurants in the area. We would recommend stay here again.

Bedding

Found some unmentionable items from the previous hotel room guest in my bed which meant the bedding had not been changed! Hotel provided me with breakfast coupon which did not make up for the lack of cleanliness.

Lovely hotel, great service, best location in Victoria

This hotel is right across the street from the Ferry landing and we had a beautiful view of the inner harbor, The Empress Hotel and Victoria. We walked all over, took little ferries, never used our car. Staff was very nice and helpful, gave our 2 kids a little welcome package with some kiddie stuff and a list of area attractions for kids. Really nice new looking decor, well maintained, a lovely building. Very nice pool area, comfy beds. Breakfast at the Pacific Restaurants buffet was just OK especially for the cost. Used their coffee shop a lot (has sandwiches, salads etc.)Would recommend to anyone and would definately staff there again.

Take the little ferries to Fishermans Wharf or China Town and have some lunch or dinner.

Victorias best hotel

The Grand Pacific Hotel was conveniently located in the heart of the city and across from a spectacular water view. It was very short walk from the ferry. The staff were very courteous. The room was very quiet. No noises from arriving or departing guests and heavenly beds. This is definitely the best hotel in Victoria.

Coupon books to attractions are not a good idea. There are very few that are useful. The attractions like the castle and Butchard Gardens are a distance away and transportation is needed. We would bring our car next time.

Victoria and The Grand

The Grand Pacific is located right on the Inner Harbor of Victoria. Like it’s name, our room turned out to be a very comfy place. For active families it is located right where you can walk to everything, as well as having a great long indoor pool and fitness center it’s self. We only had to ask questions of the staff and were treated like royality.

The Inner Harbor is a very active place, busy with all sorts of water craft. The walkway around the harbor was filled with people, a juggler, painters, craftsmen, and walkers. We enjoyed our location and would go again.

Awesome Hotel and location!

The hotel is in a GREAT location; especially if you are coming over via the Victoria Clipper from Seattle- the dock is virtually across the street! The hotel staff were extremely friendly, helpful and cordial. The room was fantastic, especially sitting out on the balcony! We also had air conditioning, which you don’t really need, but the seagulls in Victoria are very noisy at night and we were glad to be able to shut the balcony doors and sleep in comfort! The pool/jacuzzi area has adult-only hours daily, which is nice to relax. Everything is close to the hotel and you do not need a car! The resident ducks are also fun to watch in the mornings with their "leader" (the landscaper) We can’t wait to go back!

Walk, walk and walk to appreciate this city! Butchart Gardens is a must see; arrange your tour with Greyhound and the bus station is right down the street! Across the street by the harbour, there is a night market on the weekends and during the day, YUMMY Belgian waffles from the waffle cart and various street performers and artisians selling their crafts!

I was expecting more for the price. It seemed like a standard hotel room. I booked two rooms, for each I requested a king size bed, but received two queens instead.

Very Impressed

The quality of service was outstanding beginning with the Check-In all the way through to departure. Recommendations by the concierge for restaurants on target. The fitness center was spacious and complete. The hotel fit in nicely with the theme of Victoria, BC and the harbor view was breathtaking.

NICE ROOM, VERY CONVENIENT, A LITTLE SMALL WITH GREAT VIEW

WE REALLY LIKED THIS HOTEL. IT WAS SO CONVENIENT TO THE CITY AND ESPECIALLY THE FERRY DOCK. THE ROOM WAS NICE AND WE HAD A VIEW OF THE CITY AND THE OLYMPIC MOUNTAINS. YOU DON’T NEED A CAR IF YOU STAY HERE AND JUST WANT TO BE IN THE CITY. THE BED WAS VERY COMFORTABLE AND WE SLEPT WELL.

Perfect location and quality of accomodation

We enjoyed all aspects of this hotel...the quality of the bed, linens, furniture, restuarant food...we were 100% satisfied with all. No complaints at all, and we felt the price was fair. We would stay again and again.

very nice stay

We had a king room with a great view of the Parliment Bldg. Nicely appointed room with a great location. We especially enjoyed having a balcony. The staff was very accomodating.

Fading Elegance

We used to stay at the Grand Pacific every year. Recently after a few years break we went back. Wish it were as it used to be. Our small suite looked "worn". Holes in the wallpaper, some wallpaper curling off the wall. Furniture looked old. Old fashioned TV. Poky bathroom had the "sour dishcloth smell" on the shower curtain. We only got one towel each. Limited amenities in the bathroom. No night light in the bathroom. We expect better at a "four star" hotel. The Grand Pacific has a great location on the harbor, and you can get rooms with a good view; you can also get rooms with little or no view so be sure to check this when you make your reservation. Food in the restaurant was good although not outstanding. The service everywhere was friendly and efficient.

Great Victoria Hotel

We had a great room overlooking the harbor, city lights and the Empress. A balcony, large room, with clean modern conveniences at a great price made this a terrific stay for us. The service was excellent, the concierge was quite helpful. Food was good both in the room and the buffet breakfast. All in all, the Hotel Grand Pacific was a great value and we’d definitely stay there again.

Stay at the Grand Pacific and just wander through the Empress. Or go for tea/dessert/whatever. The rooms are a MUCH better value at the HGP and the view of the Empress was gorgeous.

Very pleased with all aspects of our stay

Outstanding location, easy to walk to anything in downtown Victoria, very friendly staff all throughout the hotel. We decided not to pay extra for an upgrade to a water-view room, but ended up with a view from our balcony anyway, which was a pleasant surprise. The room was not huge, but was clean and nice. We were there on a warm weekend and the temperature control in the room worked great, which I’ve heard can be a problem at some other Victoria hotels. On a whim, we ended up eating dinner in the hotel restaurant during a live jazz show (Laila Biali, definitely go check her out if you ever get a chance). The music was incredible, the atmosphere was great, the service was awesome, the food was good enough but not superb, reasonably priced. All in all, I think the Hotel Grand Pacific is a better deal than some of the other top-tier hotels in Victoria. More expensive than most hotels in the city, but highly recommended if you’re willing to pay just a little more for a better experience.
