Primarily a conference center

The house itself at Bailbrook House is a stately home in a beautiful location. The hotel rooms are in a modern annex, as is the dining room and the bar. The only problem in the room is a disturbing sign that reminds guests to keep the bathroom door closed while showering, because the steam might set off the fire alarm. Someone during our stay must have disregarded the sign, because the alarms went off quite early one morning. No one evacuated their rooms, and silence was soon restored.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

It is easy to take the bus in to the center of Bath, but not cheap. The desk clerk told us that any bus would take us in to town, but that we needed to make sure we took a 13 back out. This was important information, as we discovered that a "return" ticket on a non-13 was not valid for the return trip!
