Pleasantly surprised
When we arrived we were upgraded to a courtyard room. The rooms were very nice. The location was quiet and just enough out of the downtown area to provide a sense of privacy. Yet, the downtown area was within easy walking distance. I am still not sure if a breakfast was included with the room. There is a nice little restaurant in the hotel. We found a great place (QV Bakery and Cafe) on Government street near the hotel where we had breakfast each day.
Traveler's tip on local attractions
Even staying at Paul’s, we found little need for a vehicle while in Victoria. Our plan was to stay in town. The weather was great and everything we wanted to see was within walking distance or a water taxi ride.

Good hotel for stay
The hotel location is great, The room is comfotable but old. Good stay for one to two nights.

Close to Harbour, but Old
Old motor inn that has tried to keep up. Stayed there in the past at a reasonable rate, but too expensive for what you get now. You can get a better deal on Expedia.

Within walking distance of downtown and harbour area. Be careful not to leave valuables in your car.
