great place for a vacation stay
this was our fourth year to stay here. The free breakfast is wonderful and especially if on a tight budget. Takes a little driving skills to get used to the parking garage,but not all that bad. I would highly reccomend anyone to stay here for their vacation.

Take care.
Great views from the rooms, convenient to the beaches, but rooms are nor well maintained. Badly stained carpets, bent lampshade, needed some painting. Breakfast was good, staff were pleasant, maintenance needs attention.

great place
I had a great time there. I have to say that the parking deck has very tight turns for trucks & suv’s.I read the reviews beforehand & came in my nissan sentra but my friends were cursing a little bit about it. great place!

Awesome Trip
Hotel was awesome! 3 awesome pools, right on the beach. Room was more than I could have asked for, clean big and had an amazing view of the beach. Breakfast was amazing and the staff was so pleasant. I can’t wait to go back!

Love this Hotel
We love this Hotel and its location. We have stayed here before and we try to stay during the times when the rates are lower. My husband loves the breakfast(it’s a full breakfast)so you save on one meal every day. We had an ocean front room and loved it/ we have stayed in their angled ocean front rooms and they are nice too. Will definitely stay here again!!
Has a lazy river inside, pool and kiddie pool inside and big pool outside--pool and spa on 10th floor also.

Good thing the breakfast was free
Everything was ok for the price. Hotel service was good and everybody was nice. Parking garage was very tight and narrow. Room was clean. But the breakfast was bad, very bad. The eggs seem to be cooked in the same pan as the meat. The best thing at breakfast was the coffee. Overall it was a good hotel for a quick trip on a budget and great location as it was close to Broadway at the Beach.

Look elsewhere...
The first thing we noticed about the hotel was the vehicle entrance. Check-in is located on the 2nd floor of the garage. When you enter the extremely narrow garage, you immediately go up a steep ramp and then must take a near 90-degree left turn. This pattern repeats as you go up each floor. It’s no problem if you drive a smart car or a moped, but if you have an SUV, full-size truck or large car... forget it. You must try and park on the first floor where space is rarely available. As for check-in, there were signs everywhere telling us not to block the garage lane but all the parking spaces were filled. Where should I leave my car while I check in??? I could go on and on but I have a limit of 1500 characters so I won’t be able to tell you about the sub-standard maid service, the peeling paint, etc.... The bottom line: There are a thousand other hotels in Myrtle Beach. Pick a newer one.

Neat and Clean
The 2 flat-screen TVs promised in the Expedia description were nowhere to be found. The cable package was very limited -- mostly golf/restaurant promotion channels. Parking deck required lots of steep, narrow turns. Otherwise, neat, clean and in a good location. Friendly maids and breakfast staff.

Very Impressed
This was a good location to reach many of the things we wanted to do. The cleanliness of the room/hotel was good. It was winter so we couldn’t do much on the beach but one day it was nice enough to go sit on the beach and it was very relaxing. I would definitely come back!
The room we had had a full kitchen and a seperate sitting room. It was very nice.

I tried this out in the off season on a really good rate,.
Usually you find that if u obtain a really good rate in the off season that they also cut back on alot of staff as well. This was not the case at all. I have worked in hospitality for the past fourteen years and automatically have high expectations anywhere I sleep, or dine.

Great special features
We have stayed at Monterey Bay several times,both during winter and summer months. Special features that meet our needs include: full kitchen, seperate living room that can be closed off from bedroom, and indoor and outdoor hot tubs year round. Suggestions would include adding a few lower calorie selections to breakfast buffet (which is included in room rate). Thanks, Dorothy in North Carolina

Wish I could have stayed longer in this lovely place.
The room has brand new furniture. Both rooms had a tv in it which makes it alot easier. There were stainless steel appliances. The view was awesome. The breakfast was very tasty and fulfulling. The hotel staff was very nice each time I saw them. They each greeted me numerous of times. The pools and spa was great as well. Overall I was very pleased with my stay.

There are numerous of places to eat just a few minutes away. This is a great family place to stay with the pools, beach, and daily activities planned especially in the summer time.

Never Again
The staff from the desk clerk to the night pretend cop are just plain rude. My room is supposed to be oceanview. The view consists of a building with a GIANT rocking chair and the parking lot that goes with that building. Parking is terrible unless you drive a mini cooper or a VW bug. I would not stay here again if it were free. Oh and bring a book you will need it waiting on the elevator.

We absolutely promote courtesy towards all guests and regret that there was any misunderstanding in this case. The oceanview rooms as described on both our website as well as Expedia.com are stated as "angled ocean view" and we regret that this customer perceived the room differently. We always work with our guests to provide the best room for their vacation and would certainly do everything possible to move the guest or work with Expedia to provide the guest with the best stay possible. Just this past winter we underwent a huge elevator renovation and have since only experienced problems with the elevators during heavy check in/out times and during scheduled maintenance. We hope that all of our past, present and future guests relay their comments to us and we will certainly do everything possible to provide them with the vacation that they deserve!

Good Stay
This was a good hotel to stay at. The parking desk is just under the hotel and the pools are on the 10th floor. The room was clean and comfortable. The price was also right. I will stay here again.

Good Value, Nice Place
I booked this hotel for six days because you could not beat the price. I was not sure what we would get for that price, but I was actually surprised. It was a very nice place to stay. Clean rooms, clean pool, nice area of the beach. The only thing I did not like was the parking garage. Attempting to park in that garage will test your driving skills as well as your nerves. Overall, I would stay at Monterey Bay again.

Make sure you visit the new Market Commons area. Also check out River City Cafe, great food, good prices, good sweet ice tea.

good stay for the money
the rooms were large and nicely decorated we had a problem with our bed- the head of the bed seemed to be going downhill so we tried to prop up on pillows the first night- we asked for maintenance and they came and turned the mattress- that didnt help the problem was with the frame but we didnt know that was all they did until that night - so it was back to the pillows but all in all we would stay there again- great breakfast - just need to check where your head goes!

Nice Hotel
This is the second time I’ve stayed at this hotel and I would stay again. Liked the set up of the room with bedroom separate from living area. Kitchen in room makes it easy to save some money by cooking some, or all, meals in the room. Having breakfast included in the price of the room helps too. Nice pool areas.

Overall a good place to stay
The rooms were clean and we had a nice view. The pool area was fun. The parking garage was difficult to navigate with the tight turns, but we have a small car so we did just fine driving slowly.
