Lovely view of the Danube bridges from the hotel suite
The suite was roomy and comfortable with access to the deck. The bathroom was quite small, with a shower, no bath tub. Breakfast was ample, nothing special. Staff was helpful and cordial. The immediate neighborhood is charming; getting to the trams and subways is a walk.
Traveler's tip on recreational activities
The island between Buda and Pest is a welcome retreat from the heat of the city streets. We enjoyed the walk through the park and the outdoor swimming pools.

Not impressed at all!
I coudl have chosen a 4* for an extra buck or two but wanted to be on the boat and enjoy the sunset on the deck. Well -- wrong choice. I stayed 3 nights and every morning asked for the same: please replace the soap bottle because I cannot get any soap out of it; the room door does not really lock - can you do anytihng about it? Do you have maid service to clean the room? Except for the last point, nothing has been done. Speaking English can be challenging for реу staff. Breakfast is meager. The boat is run down. Not terribly convenient to public transpoartion, nothing of note around.

Unique and Budget Friendly
I found the boathotel to be a rather unique and fun experience in my travels. Great staff and good breakfast. The rooms are somewhat small as is typical in Europe. It was great each evening to finish the day on the back deck with an awesome view of the lighted castle and Chain Bridge. Metro 3 takes you directly from the airport drop-off from bus #200 to the Lehel ter station. Then its just a couple of blocks. Bus #76 and #79 drops you off one block from the hotel. Vorosmarty Square, a main tourist strip, is only a few metro stops away.
Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay
Have 350HUF in change after arriving at airport for bus trip to Metro. Ten-ticket books that are sold at airport are not a bargain, neither are the Budapest cards. Single-use transport tickets are complicated and can be confusing. Buy 3, or 7-day unlimited ticket at Metro. Tickets are vigorously checked! Stay alert around Vorosmarty Square from interesting opportunities. Always count change before leaving register. Two recommended day trips are Eger and Bratislava.
