A very special place
Very different from the standard hotel. Rooms are restored old dutch caribbean style houses right in the centre of the UNESCO-heritage centre of Willemstad. Furniture is from asia and each room is different. The food is very good and service good, location very central and the landscaping and architecture stunning. The hotel is not on the beach but shuttle service is available to a nice nearby beach and to a sister facility right on the coast further away. We will go back!
Traveler's tip on local attractions
Nightlife is good in the Centre of Willemstad, in the Mambo Beach area to the east of the centre, and in Zuikertuintje shopping/nightlife area. The best beaches are: Daaibooi, Porto Marie, Cas Abou and Grote Knip/Kenepa. Christoffelpark is worth a visit too.

Wonderful honeymoon spot!!
My husband and I were recently at Hotel Kura Hulanda for the last leg of our honeymoon, and loved it! We stayed for a week in Aruba first, so the cultural and less touristy nature of Curacao was refreshing. The service was top notch and the resort was absolutely beautiful. We were upgraded to a deluxe suite upon arrival, which overlooked the lagoon pool with the waterfall. We felt very safe on the grounds of the hotel, which consisted of narrow cobblestone alleys, 2 pools, lush gardens, great restaurants, and a bar that stayed open later (which was great for us. :) It definitely had the feel of an old Dutch community. The hotel is very centrally located in downtown Willemstad, just a short walk across the river to tons of shops, bars, and restaurants. We went to the Seaquarium and Mambo beach one day, and spent a day up at the Kura Hulanda Lodge (free shuttle to this sister property was very convenient). The lodge was beautiful as well...very nice pool area and gorgeous view of the water where you could see from the cliff. I would recommend Hotel Kura Hulanda to anyone who wants to experience Curacao in an upscale, yet cultural setting, situated near the downtown area. You can relax inside the hotel, go to the spa or fitness center, and enjoy the restaurants on the grounds, or go out exploring the city. Great for couples and/or adult groups.

Cabs around town are very expensive, so try to stick to local buses or walking if possible.
