Best location to the slopes.
Very nice hotel. Great view of the mountain. Didnt mind sitting in the room after a hard day on the slopes.

Definitely would stay again!
We had a great stay; this hotel has everything you would need. The room was very nice and clean. Flat screen TVs and down blankets and pillows were a nice touch. The food at the hotel is great, the breakfast buffet on the top floor is a little on the expensive side but well worth it! Hotel staff is very accommodating to needs, we loved the pool side cocktail service while we relaxed in the hot tubs. Hotel is also within walking distance to the Snowbird center. On site ski lockers and lift ticket window make it easy to get on the slopes in the morning. Snow was AMAZING!!!!

Cliff Lodge & Spa: Almost Perfect
Weve traveled a LOT and speak plainly about our experiences. The Cliff was just great. The hotel portion gets a perfect score from me. Check-in, room service, facilities are all +A. The Spa, likewise, gets my highest praise. There was 1 problem and it was, in my humble opinion, significant. The Aerie restaurant is supposed to be their crowning establishment, but the service, and I must say the management as well, was absolutely terrible. I personally witnessed a couple get up and leave because no one came to their table to serve them. These people patiently waited for half of an hour before walking out. Our service, at a neighboring table, was similar, but at least we had cocktails while we waited. Their buffet breakfast is acceptable, if only because its self service. The real secret of the Cliff is the Mexican restaurant in the basement. Their service was EXCELLENT. Their food was OUTSTANDING. I say move the Mex place to the top floor and move the Aerie...to the dumpster. All in all, the hotel is a model for ski resorts. Just skip the white linen tablecloths on the 9th floor!

Something for everyone at The Cliff
Beautiful, casually elegant and comfortable. I would recommend The Cliff Hotel and Spa for any season. I enjoyed the food service staff. Very friendly and efficient. We felt at home there.
Traveler's tip on recreational activities
The Snowbird Center which is the heart of the resort where the hotel is located, needs better signage to find shops and food sources from all levels. If visiting there, bring the map that the hotels supplies to find your way around.

Best spot in Snowbird, but thats not saying much.
Snowbird is a great place to ski, but the lodging and eating options are limited. All the buildings are an ugly cemet slab construction (hip in the late 60s and early 70s) that makes you feel like you are staying in a old communist apartment building in East Germany. There is just not much you can do to make them pretty. The rooms at the Cliff Lodge are very average. The insulation from the cemet walls is so good, though, that it is difficult to keep the rooms on the upper floors cool. We kept both small windows on our 7th floor room open all the time with the heater turned off in February and still felt hot going to bed at night. Thankfully each room is equiped with a humidifier. The restaurant on the top floor is pretty good with a long wine list, but it is the only truly upscale dining at the entire resort. If you are used to the food at Vail or most of the other Colorado resorts, you will be sorely dissapointed with Snowbird and the Cliff Lodge. Shopping is non-existent, except for the typical t shirt stuff. I recommend you ski Alta, which is connected to Snowbird, on Saturday as the crowds are thinner and snowboarders are not allowed. Crowds are light everywhere on Sunday, as the Mormon day skiers are not present.
Traveler's tip
If you book this in the winter via expedia, get the travel insurance. There is one canyon road to the resort, and it occasionally closes, making acces to the hotel from the airport impossible. Without the insurance, you pay for the room even if you cant get there.

ask what room you get
Hotel was nice, great facilities around the hotel. 20 min drive to Salt Lake. Many things to do around the hotel like hike, ride the tram to the top of the mountain, restaurants, sled slide, etc. Wish I got a better view of a room...
Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay
We got a second floor room facing a power transformer...so the view wasnt worth the cost of the room. I am sure they have great views, but we didnt get one.

Not a Summer Spot
I came here for a business trip in Aug 2-4. The hotel advertised wireless internet but in my room it never connected. I had to get a bridge connection instead which means I could only be in one place. Not a lot of maps for people going to the different rooms in the hotel. I felt like I was a bother to the staff when I went to eat. One guy asked me to step aside and let the person behind me order first.

Great Place to get away in the Spring/Summer
The resort of there to serve the skiing vacationer. This is a review of the hotel/resort in the off season. I was there during the transition from winter to summer configuration. There was only 2 of the 8+ resteraut venues open. It was rare to see another guest while I was staying there. The rooms are wonderful. The service is friendly and prompt (since it felt like I was the only one staying at the hotel. The resteraunts and lounges open were dated put the staff more then made up for it with good food and excelent service.
Traveler's tip on recreational activities
The resort area has a Tram service to the top of hidden peak. Its worth the trip any time of year. I went in early June and there was a fresh 12in layer of snow on the ground which made for a spectacular vue from the peaks 11,000 altitude.
