All I expected and then some.

From the time we arrived till the time we left the service was unsurpassed. The food was unbelievable and the menue changed everyday. The staff were friendly yet very professional, we were treated like royalty. The grounds were imaculate and the plants and flowers were an Eden of colour and scents.

Traveler's tip on recreational activities

The hotel provided kyaks, snorkling gear, sailboats, float mats and instructions for all the equipment at no extra charge, for use in their private cove. The croquet lawn was fun and well maintained, the pool was clean and refreshing.

Fantastic

A small resort, with a beautiful private beach, well maintained facilities and great service. Wonderful spa on a cliff, where you can hear the waves while getting a message.

A gracious, lovely traditional hotel

The Jamaica Inn is a very lovely and gracious small hotel that reflects the traditions of British service in an island setting. The service is top-notch and very correct--but the ambiance is pure Jamaican style. The food, which features a variety of fresh fish and island specialties, is very good.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

Unlike the couples-oriented resorts, there are no "fun-makers" running around in skimpy outfits or goofy games on the beach. Stay here to relax, unwind, feel the warm breezes, and experience 5-star food and white-glove attention to detail.

Wonderful stay, definitely will return

The Jamaica Inn is fabulous in every way...accommodations, service and setting. It is perfect for a laid-back time of pure relaxing and indulgence. Don’t go if you want a lot of activity or night life. This is an elegance place with the class to make you feel at home the moment you arrive. So take many books, walk on the beach and swim in the Caribbean ocean. It is fantastic!

Teenagers will be bored so leave them at home. Small children are not allowed, thank goodness.

Best in the Caribbean

We stayed at the hotel in late August’08 and just loved it! If you are looking for romantic getaway, Jamaica Inn is the place to go. The food is good, the territory and the beach are very neat. We are definitely going back!

Jamaica Inn Carribean as it used to be..

We have recently stayed at the Jamaica Inn to celebrate our wedding engagement. I couldnt say enough about the quality and supreme service this hotel has offered. This is the type of service lost in the big expansive hotels that leave little in regards to a personell experience. The hotel is beautiful and peacefull. It is elegant in its simplicity and it is a rare gem to behold. If old charm and grace are what you are looking for and a true relaxing vacation experience the Jamaican Inn should be on the top of your list!

Traveler's tip on dining

Dining is great at this hotel , It can be a bit pricey however it makes up for it in the elegants of its presentation. Local options in town are available as well but will require short taxi drive for about 20 us dollars (round trip) If staying put is your idea of relaxation you wont be dissapointed in the room service the hotel offers for a small charge, this is one of the best bargains the hotel offer and one worth repeating over and over again.

Jamaica Inn

This is, by far, one of the nicest hotels at which I’ve ever stayed. The people were great as were the surroundings. The prices were a bit high, but in the end I would highly recommend this to anyone.

You will not be disappointed

2 Hours from Montego Bay. Fast check in - you’ll be shown around briefly and taken to your room. Luggage and a drink arrive shortly. Basically, at this place relaxation is the name of the game. While there are sailboats and kayaks available, you can choose to go snorkeling (a reef is close by) or just float on a mat. The beach is seems to be crushed shell and is kept in great condition. You’ll give your room number when you want something - no need to carry any cash or cards. If you decide to go off site for eating, most places will send a taxi for you. Don’t worry about bringing a laptop - they have wireless if you do - there is a computer in the library where you can surf. Not sure of everyone else, we could not call out on our blackberries although we could receive calls. If we wanted to make a call, we had to use the phone in our rooms. We ate out twice for dinner and once for lunch. If you never left, you wouldn’t feel you like missed out on anything... the food and service is that good. This place specializes in the little things (a fresh pitcher water and tub of ice) saves you looking for an ice machine or drinking bottled water all of the time. The gift shop is well stocked for your convenience. Their spa is top notch and located on the backside of property overlooking the water. We met some people who had visited 25-35 times... it’s that good. We plan on going back. Next time, we’ll stay longer, bring more books, and pack half as many clothes as we did this time.

Jamaica Inn

Jamaica Inn is a wonderful, quiet, romantic retreat to read and relax in the sun, snorkle, walk the beach, enjoy massage, dine wonderfully under the stars. Lots of British clients and octogenarians who wear formal white dinner jackets on Saturday nights and sing around the piano. Not for kids under 12 or anyone who requires jet skis and action sports... if this is you... please go somewhere else!

Sophisticated yet relaxed atmosphere, would definitely recommend it.

We really enjoyed the relaxed yet somewhat sophisticated atmosphere. The place was well kept and gorgeous, the service was impeccable. The staff went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and the manager was very personable and warm. She greeted guests individually and made us feel like we were long time acquaintances- a true Jamaican welcome. It was my husband’s first visit to Jamaica and he was very impressed. We left there feeling that our stay was not long enough. We loved being pampered in the spa-like ambiance of Jamaica Inn! We would definitely go back.

Jamaica’s best

Our stay in August was amazing. We’re from New York and we expected the finest. Well this stay blew us away. We were upgraded twice and in the White Suite! The owners and the manager are great people, always here to make your stay more enjoyable. The staff is always nice and helpful. The swimming pool is perfect, its size is way enough as the wonderful beach with always enough spots for you to tan and rest. The food is more than excellent and the chef won’t hesitate to get out and meet you in person. This hotel is wonderful and one of the best I’ve ever been to, if not the best one. We will be back!

Traveler's tip on nightlife

Have at least one dinner at Evitas, plus it’s included in their all-inclusive plan. Take numbers from private taxis (from the hotel or somewhere else) and discuss with them where you want to go and for how much!

Can’t wait to go back

This was our second time staying at the Jamaica Inn. Last year we found them by accident browsing expedia and stayed 8 days. This year we knew this was where we wanted to spend our honeymoon, we did not even look at staying anywhere else, we stayed two and a half weeks and the Jamaica Inn did not disappoint! The staff is simply the best, very friendly, very helpful, they had the answers to our questions before we asked them. The hotel and grounds itself are beautiful. The Inn does not have all the music and activities going on all day like other local resorts, that was perfect for us, we went into town for that, and then went home to the Inn to relax. What you see on the website is exactly what see when you get and better. There are no TVs in the rooms, that said a lot to me, this place is for relaxing and recharging, but the hotel can arrange to get you to most other activities if you like, we played golf and snorkeled, sailed, did a zip-line tour etc, and after came back to the Inn, perfect!

Will go back in a heartbeat!!!!

I found this hotel through Expedia and I specifically chose it for the following reasons: very quaint and private, no children under 13, family owned for over 50 years, and the reviews were excellent. My husband and I just got back yesterday after a 3 night stay and we are already planning our next trip back. We always stay in high standard hotels and this is by far the best one yet. We went for our 12th year anniversary and it felt like we were on our honeymoon. From the moment we stepped out of the airport to meet our driver, we were treated as if we were some sort of important diplomats. We were greeted by smiling faces and they did not let us lift a finger with our luggages. Tyrone oriented us to our room and there was a couple of cocktails waiting for us which was refreshing after a long flight. The food was exceptional! This is not your typical "all-inclusive buffet". This is 5 course meals! I highly recommend the Kiyara Spa. The prices are reasonable and if you get a massage, ask for Pauline...she is awesome. For our last night, it happened to be our anniversary and the reggae band played a special song for us during dinner. When we got back to our room, the staff had a chilled bottle of wine waiting for us and candles were lit all over. If you want to find yourself or each other again, this is definitely the resort to stay in! Skip the Dunn’s river...not worth it.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

All inclusive and private transportation is optional but I highly recommend it as the price does add up. You will not be disappointed with the food. Also, you don’t have to wait around for a taxi, shuttle or public transpo, which can be annoying at times. All you have to do is give them your name at the airport and they will direct you to your driver.

The Best Hotel In Jamaica

We traveled around 9000km to spend my time in Jamaica Inn Hotel. The rooms were big enough, totally clean and comfortable. The verandas were huge and on the shore whehere you can directly jump on the beach. It has the best shore among Ocho Rios area. Compared to the chain hotels you will really feal exclusive. Food and beverages were well done. Service people were really polite and helpfull. This hotel is the one and only one which we can not make any recomendations. If you plan to go to Jamaica no matter what you do, go for it. This hotel is soley intended for the couples. Go single if you want to be really by yourself.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

Although you will not look for it but if you want to go out for dinner please visit the Evita’s Italian Restraunt, Ruins at The Falls; go for boat sigth seing, snorkelling as well as fishing. Jamaica is good for Jewellery and watch shopping as well as the Rum.

Romantic Hideaway? This is the place!!!

This small hotel is the most romatic place we have ever stayed, and we have stayed in some amazing places! The service is above and beyond. The staff so warm and friendly. The trip from the airport is, unfortunately, over an hour, but it is well worth the wait. If you are craving loud music and group activities, this is not the place for you. If you want to quietly gaze into someone’s eyes and dance under the stars at dinner,... or just be by yourself, then you have to give this place a try. You won’t regret it!

We WILL be going back soon!

My husband and I just returned from Jamaica Inn. We cannot stop telling everyone about our honeymoon experience. The intimacy of this beautiful little inn is without competition on an island with mega resorts. The beach is beautiful, food is AMAZING, and the staff is as thoughtful as professional. Our balcony suite was perfect with its view of the Caribbean from all sides (all of them have a view); you will always have your doors open because it is just captivating.

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

Go for the all inclusive. It’s worth it! You can try a multitude of drinks and foods without worrying about your daily bill. You won’t be disappointed.

Relaxing Vacation

My wife and I spent a week at the Jamaica Inn and it was the most relaxing vacation we have ever experienced. The staff was very friendly, the food delicious, the service impeccable, and the facilities comfortable. We did not go downtown because we felt so welcomed at the resort. We will definitely return to this resort.

Unbelievable experience

The Jamaica Inn was one of the best hotel experiences that my husband and I have ever had. We stayed in a premier verandah suite in the west wing. We had stunning sunsets every night, and we spent much of our vacation on the fantastic large outdoor patio. We appreciated the "little things" in our room, too: the citronella oil burner to prevent mosquitoes, ample storage space, sea grass rugs to prevent sand in the bed, and several fresh flower arrangements. We started missing the staff at the moment we left - they were friendly, attentive, and helpful (our experience would not have been the same without them). The beach was the perfect size, and they clean it everyday so there was very little seaweed. We loved the breakfast (tons of very fresh fruit!). Our only minor complaint was that they often messed up something on our room service orders - not a big deal, and this is Jamaica, so, just relax, mon! Oh, one more thing, the hotel doesn’t permit children under 12 - which was perfect for a romantic vacation. We’re conspiring to drop off the kids at grandma’s so we can return sometime in the future. We highly recommend this hotel!

A Truly Memorable Trip

My boyfriend and I decided to stay at the Jamaica Inn because we were looking to escape New York for a few days and didn’t want to be bothered with connecting flights. After reading a few positive reviews, we decided to book though we were still a bit skeptical, as we didn’t know anyone that had stayed at the hotel before. As soon as we arrived at Jamaica Inn, my skepticism withered away. From the moment that we walked to the front desk, the staff wouldn’t let us worry about anything. Our bags were brought up to our very nice balcony suite overlooking the croquet court, beach and sea and we were given a brief (yet pleasant) tour of the grounds. The food was absolutely amazing, from breakfast down to dessert. The staff is as knowledgeable as they are pleasant. We came back to New York a few days ago feeling relaxed, refreshed and ready to go back to the Jamaica Inn as soon as possible.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

Be sure to try the rum cream as an after dinner drink, take advantage of the Spa and have Tony take out on the boat to see the Falls.
