Hotel needs remodeled

Room was not clean, trash under the bed, no toilet paper in the bathroom, ants entered around a window that would not close completely. Dirt on floor, kitchen area not clean. Asked and was moved to another room, better than the first one, but still not where I would want to stay again. Maybe a good place for a bunch of college guys wanting to tie one on.

If you’re looking for bargain basement prices for hotels in Savannah, then Extended Stay is a basement... Four of us went and rented 2 rooms in the hotel. The carpet in the hallways looks like a dead body was dragged through the hall, and that’s the best part. The rooms are dirty and smell strange. We had to move rooms on the second night due to an ant infestation. While we were packing up our stuff to move to the new room, someone looked under the bed (don’t do this) and found what the ants were after. Under the bed was littered with cherios, raisins, and two 2-liter bottles of soda. We were afraid to look under the beds in our other room. If you stay, a few words of advice - bring shoes to wear in the shower, bring your own air freshener, and don’t look under the beds.

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

There’s plenty of parking in the historic distric in Savannah, so if you’re going there on vacation, don’t feel like you have to stay right downtown. If you want to save a few bucks on your hotel, check out by the airport - a little further to drive, but you’ll get better rates without the Bates motel experience.

Not worth the savings

Pros, Hotel was a $20 cab ride into downtown during peak time for cabs. Savannah was accesible from this hotel located outside of the city near the Army Airbase. The staff was very unattentive. I asked several times for pillows because of my back condition and they told me they were out. Should have offered something or tried a little harder to help. Room stank of chinese food. Bathroom had hair all over it. Did not look like it had been cleaned.

Above and Beyond!!

Being a military family, we have traveled more than I can count.I am also a member of the hospitality Industry and know what I am talking about.I was absoluteley impressed with the service I received from the Hotel Staff. They made our stay very comfortable and went above and beyond .Respect!The room was very spacious and if you have a family great price for that area. The kitchen could have been a little cleaner and the ’"trash room" inside of the hotel smelled really bad . Other than that I would most definitly stay here again, Thank you for a great experience.

Very, Very disappointed

I had a very unpleasant stay. I had a smoking room with a double bed (I did ask for). The room reaked of an unpleasant odor. My wife and I climbed into bed and in between the top sheet and comforter we found a box of staples for a staple gun and the sheet was dirty. For this to happen, the bed could not have been changed. We slept in the other bed that night. We were given a new room the next day that we were satisfied with. We will never stay at this particular hotel again.

We had requested non-smoking but our first room reaked of smoke. The second room they gave us faced the front of the hotel, so we heard street noises all night. There was a puppy in the next room which woke us up at 4am with its’ whining. Did not get much sleep all night.

Graduation Stay

The hotel rooms had been recently painted and (looked to be some paint) was on the carpet in places; otherwise, the rooms were clean. The front staffers were nice and friendly. We used this hotel because of the price and will go back. It was really nice to have the full size refrigerator, microwave and sink in your room.

Decent hotel

The hotel is a decent hotel, but a few factors dissapointed me, such as the fact that there was no regular housekeeping service, they only came to clean every 7 days (though you could PAY an extra 5 dollars and have them come.) Another fact that totally irked me was that you could not get clean towels and bath cloths until you turned the dirty ones in at the front desk, meaning you had to lug an armful of dirty towels down to the lobby. The room was actually pretty comfortable and clean, it had a kitchenette and a nice sized bathroom with lots of counter space. I now know that these are "efficiency suites" mainly suited for travelers who will be staying for a while. It was in a great location, just about 4 miles from the historic district and river street, which was our reason for staying there. The staff was friendly enough, but the girl at the desk seemed like she didn’t really know what she was doing.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

Hotel is on Abercorn St, which is one of the main streets running from downtown. Great location. River St is 4 miles to the left, alot of shopping areas near by, Starbucks right across the street. Go eat at Bennigans, a little pub a mile or so to the right on the right side. Food and drinks were great. You can take the bus (or shuttle) to river street for 10 each way if you plan to drink.

Very Impressed

Newly renovated hotel, very large rooms and friendly staff. I will definately use establishment again as I visit family in Savannah 1 a month and the handicapp accessible suites are convenient with reasonable rates.
