Great Price for a Great Place
I recently spent 5 nights at the Hotel San Carlos. The only negative comment I have is about the continental breakfast. It’s pretty slim. Luckily there’s a Safeway, Starbucks and Peets Coffee two blocks down the street and our room contained a fridge, freezer, microwave and coffee maker. The room was large, with one king sized bed and a seperate nook/changing area where the closet was located. This was great for keeping luggage and clothing out of the way. It also contained a flat screen tv. It is a family run place so you end up waking up the front desk person in the middle of the night if you need something, but they hav a buzzer and were more than happy to get up and get you what you need, or check you in (we checked in after midnight). I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone and would stay there again myself.

Good Room
Room was nice and clean with a new flat-screen TV (I didn’t have a chance to turn it on...). I was only there 1 night for a friend’s wedding, but the room was perfect for what I needed. Quiet and clean, which is all I’m looking for.

Don’t Do It!!! I would not go back--EVER!
Breakfast was leftovers for 2 days, we know because a particular muffin had a tear in it and it was there for next 2 days. Staff was not helpful, tried to make it right because the amentities advertised were not available, offered 20%discount, then after we checked out they changed the discount to only 10%, just not fair and not good business. Bed was comfortable % that was it. Floor/Carpet dirty. Daughters first vacation was not a hit simply because of the problems with this hotel. Do not appreciate that at all.
