Wonderful Historical Hotel
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Boulder Dam Hotel. It is a wonderful historic hotel that has been beautifully maintained. The rooms are small, but my husband and I had plenty of room. The room was quiet and the shower had the best water pressure of any hotel in which we have stayed this year. It is a treasure. The staff was courteous and helpful. The breakfast was an extra bonus.
Traveler's tip on local attractions
Boulder City has a great museum inside the hotel. It provided a great deal of information that served as good preparation for our tour of the Hoover Dam.

Great Hotel
We arrived about 9 at night after a 4 hour drive from the Grand Canyon. We were greeted warmly by name when we walked in the door. We asked how they knew our names and they said we were the only people who hadnt checked in. They referred us to a nice restaurant down the street. We had a wake-up call at 4 in the morning to catch a flight out of Las Vegas and were again greeted warmly when we left @ 4:30. The bed was comfortable and clean and our only regret was that we didnt have time to stay longer at the hotel or in the town. Maybe next time.

Mixed Review
The historical character of this hotel is its best feature--its been restored and is run by a local non-profit. The room was small and basic but had been recently redecorated and was clean. The continental breakfast was fine. The downside was the rather hard mattress, the loud bathroom fan (which comes on with the light), and the fact that both Friday and Saturday "nights" we were awaken in the wee hours by drunks leaving the bar.
Traveler's tip on dining
We enjoyed the family-run, in-house restaurant for dinner. The Coffee Cup down the street serves an excellent breakfast and Milos offers good sandwiches.
