all they care about is taking your money

this place sucks! The bar is miserable the food and drinks are way over priced; they are more expensive than in the states and the quality leaves much to be desired. the pool is only marginally bigger than a jacuzzi and the ocean looks brown like a sewage treatment facility. the staff is what killed my desire to stay here all they care about is how much money you are willing to throw around. the guys at the front desk charged me a completely different rate for the room. while they were doing that they were chatting amongst themselves in the local language about how the "gringos" deserve to pay extra and dont care if we charge them extra as they have plently of money. Unfortunately for them i understood the local language. The work ethic of most of the hotels on the Juhu beach strip leaves much to be desired. the only place i would recommend would be JW marriott here on the beach So unless you really have plenty of money to throw around ( for no service) please do not stay at the sun n sand o and if you stay ...do not take the cab from the Hotel ( they charge you an arm and leg )...am i repeating my theme here..sorry but i hope u get the point.

Traveler's tip on nightlife

the disco at the JW mariott is the place to be during the weekends also it takes a good 45 minutes to get to the airport ..so plan accordingly and do not tip more than Rs 10 to any one.. take these guys out of their "money for granted" habit when there are urchins running around the streets begging for pennies.

Definitely not a 4 star hotel

While comfortable, this hotel definitely does not rank a 4 star status. More like a 3 or 3.5 star. The room was clean, the pool was adequate and the restaurants were decent, but I have stayed at a 5 star hotel in Bombay and this hotel is definitely more than a star away from that beautiful complex. There is a lack of attention to detail that detracts from the environment, such as cracks in the floor of the elevator. There is also a mention of the private beach - while semi-private (there is a guard that runs off the public from lingering too long on that part of the beach), it’s part of the public access beach. I would recommend this hotel only if you know what the expectations are: go in knowing that it’s only a 3 or 3.5 star hotel and you’ll be fine.

A Place at a Price

It may sound ridiculous to say that the prices of hotel rooms in Mumbai are pretty high in comparison to similar hotels in the West. For the competive price one would at least expect clean cups, cutlery etc. Not necessarily here. You will have to ask for your coffee at the breakfast table. Lack of these details naturally puts you off. Quality and timely service may be something new to the hotel. Other wise nothing major to comment on.
