very smokey
We requested a nonsmoking room, and we were given a very smokey, dingy room. We had to go to CVS to buy candles to try to get the smell out of the room. It was not a pleasant stay and when we asked the manager about a nonsmoking, she was very rude about it.

Great during Comic Con
We stayed at this hotel during the San Diego Comic Con. I was very impressed with how easy it was to get to this hotel (right off the freeway), but how there wasn’t any traffic noise. The Palm Ave trolley station is about a mile down the street, and we caught a trolley to Downtown San Diego (only about a 20min ride). The hotel staff recommended walking to a bus stop down the street and then taking the bus to the trolley station. It was easier to take our on car because we wouldn’t have to wait for the bus, and it wasn’t that long/hard of a drive! Both the hotel and the trolley parking lots were secure and I was never nervous if my car would be okay unattended. The pillows were terrible!!! But, it was an excellent place to stay. Very good for how cheap it was.

Good for one night
Stayed in this hotel because I needed a place to crash for the night. The room cleanliness and condition was all right. The bed was terrible! There was a huge dent right in the center of it, so my husband and I kept rolling towards the center of the bed while we slept. Continental breakfast was decent - cereal, bread, muffins, rolls, juice, coffee.
Traveler's tip on dining
This hotel is surrounded by delicious Mexican restaurants. Check out El Cilantro. The portions are enormous and their salsa and hot sauce has bite!
